Bastille Day at the Market

The Adelaide Central Market’s renowned French festivities will return for a jam-packed three-day Bastille Day celebration from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 July in recognition of France’s national day on July 14th.

In a celebration of French food and culture, South Australia’s love of good food and wine will be on show with Bastille Day at the Market, expected to attract thousands of shoppers and families over the three-day program of free events and school holidays activities.

Highlights include traditional Can Can dancers, roving entertainment, live music with Market favourites – Adelaide String Duo, Pamplemousse Band, Melange a Trois and Louise Blackwell and the French Set – along with a pop-up crepe bar by Market Bread bar, Croquembouche cooking demonstrations with Le Cordon Bleu , a guided walking tour with Alliance Francaise and a Champagne and Chablis bar on Friday evening.

There will be plenty for kids and families to do with the Market’s July school holiday program in full swing, including low cost activities like the Market Trail andLittle Market Chefs with free gingerbread decorating workshops and face painting on offer daily.
