Living Landscape Writer’s Festival – Free family fun day

Have fun in the outdoors at our free nature-based family fun day, packed with art, craft and nature activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The nature-based Family Fun Day is part of our Living Landscapes Writers Festival, running Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April, at Hart’s Mill.

With historic Port Adelaide as the backdrop, the entire weekend is packed with activities, performances, workshops, talks, and seminars. Discover the joy of nature and join world renowned authors, artists and poets to get an insight into what inspires them, while honing your own craft.
SATURDAY 9 APRIL
10:30 am – 4:30 pm: Have a blast at the Family Fun Day all day Saturday
10:30 am – 11:30 am: Discover the journey to publication with successful authors Karen Wyld, Rachael Mead, Molly Murn and Jill Jones
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Learn how to illustrate children’s books with Mandy Foot and Rosanne Hawke
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Discover writing in a changing landscape with Ali Cobby Eckermann, Jill Jones, Inga Simpson and Dominic Guerrera
2:00 pm: Learn how to draw a pelican in a children’s workshop with artist Mandy Foot
3:30 pm – 4;30 pm: Discover new ways to describe nature with Hannah Kent and Molly Murn
6:00 pm -8:00 pm: Join Jennifer Mills to enjoy an evening of words and live music, plus the Pirate Life Bar

10:00 am – 1:00 pm: Nature writing masterclass with Inga Simpson
10:00 am – 1:00 pm: Nature writing poetry masterclass with Abby Cobby Eckermann
