SUMMARY:'Christmas Create & Play with Art in Nature'
DESCRIPTION:A special festive event for nature folk of all ages! \nThis is for families that want to connect and play together\, as well as adults who want some time out to create and play! \nSuitable for all ages 0-100! \nJoin us for a playful and relaxed adventure in the beautiful Belair National Park\, where we will enjoy Christmas themed nature connection activities and Christmas nature arts and crafts (including wreaths and decorations!) for you to create and take home! \nNature connection supports the development of sensory awareness\, physical skills\, emotional regulation\, connecting with others in a group\, and environmental awareness – amongst other benefits. All of these can support our ability to do the things we need to do\, want to do and have to do every day. And at this time of year when things get busy with many commitments and tasks\, it is actually the best time to slow down for a moment and just be\, just create and just enjoy! \nIn a world where people of all ages are increasingly disconnected from nature\, a deliberate nature-based experience such as this can help us access the health and wellbeing benefits of nature for ourselves and for the planet – while having fun! \nDetailed meeting point and directions will be sent by email or text in the days prior. \nWe can’t wait to play in nature with you soon!!

SUMMARY:Book Nooks - A Christmas Musical
DESCRIPTION:The Flying Elephant Company\, proudly supported by the City of Burnside\, presents the world premiere of Book Nooks – A Christmas Musical\, with an orchestral score reminiscent of Sondheim\, and a Dickensian tale full of magic and joy. \nEvery year on Christmas eve\, 11-year-old Jack Barker and his grandpa delivered candy canes and other sweets to the houses in their town\, but this Christmas will be the first since Grandpa passed away. As the Barker’s move into the newly inherited family home – the traditional gathering place for Christmas – Jack refuses to join the celebrations\, believing that doing so would be leaving his grandpa behind. \nHowever\, one night Jack finds himself in a magical village of Grunkels – the miniature makers of Christmas sweets – who have made their homes within the forgotten encyclopedias and history books that sit on the top shelves of his grandpa’s bookcase. The Grunkels had found refuge with Jack’s grandpa after escaping a great reckoning in their homeland. But now Grandpa is no longer around\, they have no way of getting their Christmas sweets out to all the children of the town. That is until Jack comes along. \nAlthough reluctant at first\, Jack grows close to the amiable creatures and carries on the tradition of delivering the Grunkel’s sweets\, house by house. All the while Jack learns how to cope with his loss\, he rediscovers his joy for Christmas\, and reconnects with his family. \nWHERE: Burnside Ballroom \nWHEN: \n\nWednesday 18th December | 10am\, 12pm\, 6pm\nThursday 19th December | 10am\, 12pm\, 6pm\nFriday 20th December | 10am\, 12pm\, 7pm\nSaturday 21st December | 10am\, 12pm\, 7pm\n\nCOST: \n\nFamily ticket (Inclusdes 2x Adult\, 2x Child) – $102.30 + $8.84 fee\nAdult – $35.30 + $2.64 fee\nChild – $25.30 + $2.20 fee\nConcession – $31.30 + $2.46 fee\nStudent – $28.30 + $2.33 fee\n\nBook tickets here

SUMMARY:School of Rock the Musical
DESCRIPTION:School of Rock is a two-hour\, two-act musical (plus intermission)\, based on the hit movie. The tuner follows Dewey Finn\, a failed\, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding\, bass-slapping\, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? \nThe stage musical on Broadway and in the West End is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber\, who has also composed 14 new songs for the show\, which additionally features all of the original songs from the movie. The composer’s numbers “You’re in the Band” and “Stick it to the Man” are well on their way to becoming rock solid standards\, while the finale with “Teacher’s Pet” brings audiences to their feet\, eight shows a week. \nSchool of Rock\, with its sensational live kids’ rock band\, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music. May the spirit of rock be with the schools and community theatres who pledge allegiance to Lloyd Webber’s newest hit! \nWHERE: Futures Theatre \nWHEN: 25 – 27 April \nTIME: \n\n25th April 7pm\n26th April 7pm\n27th April 3pm\n27th April 7:30pm\n\nBook tickets here
