SUMMARY:SASMEE Park Miniature Trains
DESCRIPTION:The South Australian Society of Model & Experimental Engineers (SASMEE) is a miniature train ride experience your kids will LOVE you for. \nThe objectives of the Society is to create and maintain interest in model making of all types. So there’s small machine tools\, tool making and experimental engineering connected to models. This is very much a kids haven! \nAdults and children can experience the amazing model trains up close and personal\, and the main highlight of SASMEE is being able to ride on a range of model steam and diesel trains! In fact it is unlimited rides with the small entry fee. \nThere are two stations (one near the middle and one right down the back) and a variety of trains run continuous loops stopping at the stations to take on/let off passengers.\nTrains can take between 3 and 20 passengers so families can sit together or take turns with the kids while others take photos! \nThe grounds are perfect for a picnic (the kids won’t want to be leaving any time soon) and there is a canteen on site that sells drinks and snacks and does a damn good cup of hot chips! \nWhen: 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of each month \n\nAugust 2\, 2026\nAugust 15\, 2026\nSeptember 6\, 2026\nSeptember 19\, 2026\nOctober 4\, 2026\n\nGates Open: 1:30 PM\nTrain Rides: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM \nSales close at 2 pm on the day of the event unless sold out prior. Please note that ticket quantities are limited to ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors. \n\nPark entry is $13 (+booking fees) for all persons over 3 years\nChildren under 3 FREE\nUnlimited train rides with park entry\n\nImportant Info: \n\nGates open at 1:30pm\nTrain rides from 2 – 4:30pm\nEnclosed shoes are a MUST to ride the trains.\nOnline sales close at 2pm on the day\nUnlimited rides included with entry\nKids under 3 are FREE\n\nBook tickets here

DESCRIPTION:Trucks on Tour is a free community event hosted by the City of Onkaparinga\, designed for children of all ages and their families. \nThis immersive experience will have little ones climbing into the driver’s seat\, exploring the inner workings of the vehicles and watching them in action. \nIn addition\, SAPOL\, Emergency Services and SA Power Networks and will be on hand to engage with the audience and showcase the various vehicles essential for maintaining community safety and well-being. With horns honking\, lights flashing\, and exciting demonstrations happening throughout the day\, this event is sure to capture the imagination of children and adults alike. \nWe all need some down time every now and again\, therefore\, from 1-2pm we host a sensory hour. This allows families who seek a quieter experience to attend as horns and loud devices are silenced and demonstrations end.
