We’re here to show families that books are the antidote to screen addiction.” \nFrom 16–20 June\, students at St Raphael’s will participate in a school-wide read-a-thon celebrating the joy of reading. The highlight of the week is the Reading Revolution Literacy Panel & Workshops on Thursday\, 19 June\, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Families are invited to join this special evening featuring leading children’s authors and literacy experts who will share practical\, age-specific strategies to support children’s reading development. \nWhile parents and carers attend the panel\, children are welcome to enjoy supervised play and storytime sessions in the school library and playground\, making it a truly family-friendly event. \nBacked by Catholic Education South Australia\nCatholic Education South Australia praises the Reading Revolution as a shining example of innovation in Catholic education. This transformative program bridges early learning and primary education by actively involving families\, educators\, and local kindergartens in fostering a lifelong love of reading. \nLiteracy Panel: Supporting Every Age\nThe panel features expert speakers tailored to different stages of learning: \n\nBec Hughes (Raising Literacy Australia) – for pre-school parents\nMandy Foot (Author & Illustrator) – for Reception to Year 2\nAndrew Joyner (Author & Illustrator) – for Years 3 to 4\nTania Ingram (Author) – for Years 5 to 6\n\nThese breakout sessions equip families with real\, take-home tools designed specifically for their child’s literacy journey. \nWhy Books Matter\nBooks help children thrive mentally\, emotionally\, and academically.
