It’s families helping families. \nIn its 14th year\, Walk for Prems will take place at nine locations across Australia during the month of October. DESCRIPTION:The Semaphore Train is back at the beach from Saturday 30 September 2023! \nAfter its usual winter break\, to service the steam engine and carriages\, the very popular Semaphore Train will be back running in time for the next school holidays! \nAfter celebrating 30 years of operation last season\, green steam engine BILL and its bright yellow carriages will once again be crewed by trained volunteers from the National Railway Museum. \nThe Semaphore to Fort Glanville train departs from the foot of the jetty at the end of the popular Semaphore Road cafe strip\, and parallels the Esplanade and the sand dunes of one of Adelaide’s most popular swimming beaches\, before passing through the dunes near historic Fort Glanville at Point Malcolm. \nThe trains will depart every 45 minutes\, from the Semaphore Jetty\, starting from around 11am on every day of the school holidays (apart from Tuesdays and Thursdays). \nWHERE: In front of the Semaphore Jetty \nWHEN: \n\nEvery Sunday & Public Holiday from October to April (inclusive)\nDaily during school holidays in October and April\, except Tuesdays and Thursdays\nDaily from 26th December to the end of January school holidays\n\nCOST:  \n\nFamily/Groups: (up to four people) $27\nAdult: $10\nChild: from 3 – 15 years of age (under 3 years – free) $5\n\nTrains will not operate if the Adelaide forecast temperature that morning is 36 degrees or higher. \nTickets can be purchased onboard the train – EFTPOS only.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Marion is holding a free community event on Sunday\, 30 July to celebrate the official opening of the Majors Road Pump Track\, from 12 pm to 3 pm. The family fun event will have a DJ\, food trucks\, and riding demonstrations. \nThe official ceremony will be conducted by Mayor of Marion\, Kris Hanna at 12:30pm. \nMajors Road Pump Track is a $450\,000 City of Marion Project\, with a $243\,000 funding contribution from the Australian Government through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. \nThe Majors Road Pump Track is an endless loop with rollers\, berms\, jumps and transfer options that are designed to be ridden without pedalling. Instead\, relying on a pumping motion\, pulling up on the face of rollers and pushing down the backside. DESCRIPTION:These weaving workshops are run by local Aboriginal woman Tahnae Davidson-Bartley. \nIn these workshops you will learn about techniques that were taught by Aboriginal Elders\, traditionally they used natural materials\, you will learn how they were harvested and prepared. \nYou will learn how to start your work\, how to secure the stitches and how to add more materials to increase the size or change the shape of your artwork. You will learn how to taper off\, and close the weaving stitch.
