Oceans Food Truck, Kingston Park

Family Friendly Eats, South

Oceans Food Truck is a high quality family run “food experience” right next to one of our favourite holiday spots at Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park, located smack bang on the foreshore of Seacliff beach AND right next door to a playground. This place is a hidden gem by every sense of the word. We would go so far as to say it’s metropolitan Adelaide’s best hidden beach access.

Known for their crispy freshly cooked seafood, this isn’t just your run of the mill fish and chip van. You’ll find crowd favourite traditional fish and chips, burgers and hot dogs and they also love a seasonal special or two on the menu so look out for things like crab and garlic prawn loaded fries, Sardines a l’orange on Toast or fancy fish tacos.

Open from 8.30am – 3pm and again from 5.30pm to 8pm during daylight savings, you can also pop down for breakfast. Start your morning with a Dad Burger, Granola, waffles or get a bit fancy with something like herbed mushrooms and brie on sourdough toast.

If you want our tip, go for breakfast, spend a few hours down at the beach and then head back up for lunch later.

For the kids there’s fish and chips in a cone, squid and chips in a cone, hot dogs, nuggets and VERY VERY good toasties. We have also been know to pop by for a Peter’s bribery ice cream. Because nothing goes together better than the beach and an ice cream.

There are a few tables on site, but our favourite is to throw in the picnic rug and hit the sand or the lawn area adjacent the playground. It’s also a brilliant place to watch the sun sink below the water at the end of the day with a spectacular St Vincent Gulf sunset.

You’ll find Oceans Food Truck at the front of Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park at Kingston Park (Seacliff). Head down the hill and turn left just before you get to the holiday park entrance.

DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THE SQUID!

  • Brighton Beachfront Holiday Park (formerly Brighton Caravan Park) has one of the most spectacular beachfront locations of any park we've stayed at in S.A. Located just south of the Seacliff SLSC and literally steps to the beach it's the ideal spot for a family holiday without having to travel too far from home. Swimming, sailing, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, diving, kayaking...... if you love the water, the ocean and the beach you'll LOVE this park. We recently stayed in one of their 2 Bedroom Seabreeze villas which are located in an elevated position at the back of the park with sunset views from your deck and close to all the park amenities including the brand new 9 hole mini golf course, playground, games room, kiosk and activities room where you'll find FREE kids activities during the school holidays. The park also offers other 1 and 2 bedroom cabin options as well as a range of sites for camping and caravanning. It's also pet friendly - so you can take the fur babies too! It's a very popular spot during summer and the school holidays and we loved watching our kids make new friends while cutting laps on the pedal…

  • Find it at: Brighton Road, Brighton (Highet Avenue is a side street nearby) Fully Fenced Playground! That is usually music to the the ears of a lot of people, because knowing your little tacker can run around and not actually escape is just bliss. Thankfully the newly developed Gladys Mathwin playground at the Brighton Oval sports complex is fully fenced and with a load of other must haves for parents (except toilets which weren't readily visible but would be in the sports complex buildings nearby) including lots of free parking, drinking fountain, seating, picnic tables, shade and a fully sheltered BBQ. What a great spot! The playground is fantastic and has lots for kids of most ages, with a big tube slide, lots of climbing equipment and swings and some beautiful brightly coloured smaller equipment for the under 5 crowd. We loved the bright colours, lots of shade, easy access to the oval for a kick of the footy and proximity to all the coffee spots of Jetty Road at Brighton. They have used bark as the major ground material so it may cause an accessibility issue at times but paths and soft surfaces have been used amongst the bark…

  • Find it at: Esplanade, Seacliff Although the playground is scheduled for an "official" opening on September 9th, the fences came down today for all the little ones to enjoy the newly completed playground in Seacliff. Shadesails and more plants will be added in September. The playground is in the same location as previously, although it includes part of the hillside now, spreading further than before.   Yippee Angus Neil Reserve is OPEN. After a fabulous upgrade the fences are down and it’s time to have fun at this awesome new place space at Seacliff. Pirate ships, water play, nature play, swings and a merry go round and much more this playground is fabulous #kidsinadelaide #angusneillreserve #holdfastcouncil #adelaidekids #adelaidefamilies #fun A post shared by Kids in Adelaide (@kidsinadelaide1) on Aug 16, 2018 at 8:23pm PDT Located opposite the tranquil beach that runs between Seacliff and Brighton, Angus Neill Reserve, (The Esplanade, Seacliff) is ideal for large gatherings. There's plenty of parking available around the park and it is extremely well-maintained. During the warmer months, you can see kids setting up slip 'n' slides on the weekends and sliding down the spacious grassy knoll. It makes me want to join in! Things we love about…
