Find it at: Brooker Terrace, Hilton

The very awesomely upgraded West Torrens Memorial Gardens are one of the city’s beautiful green spaces and are situated off Brooker Terrace next to the Cowandilla (Hamra) Library, and we LOVE the December 2018 upgrade!

There are heaps of climbing and swinging options for those with little people who love to climb as much as ours do! One of my faves of the new upgrade is the awesome bridge

We love water play – especially coming into summer and the new upgrade includes a water play area and a large sandpit – yay!
There are lots of different and interesting climbing options from the well loved spider’s web (above), to these dual abseiling /climbing ropes alongside the slide (below)

There is also plenty of green space in the West Torrens Memorial Gardens, with lots of established trees for shade.
SPINNERS! Love them (me!) or hate them (my husband!) but this great, slightly unusual spinner is one of the new pieces of equipment.

The toilets are open during library hours, and there is a water fountain/bottle refill station. There are lots of shade trees, but much of the new playground equipment isn’t under shade cover at this stage. Parking is along Brooker Terrace, at the library or street side nearby.

Current library/toilet hours are:

Monday10:00am – 6:00pm
Tuesday10:00am – 6:00pm

  • Find it at: Oval Road, Mount Torrens Put together by the talented team at Climbing Tree Consultancy (seriously they do some of the best playgrounds in SA), The Leckie Playground at Mt Torrens playground is another beauty. With plenty of natural shade, the lovely oval next door, bench seating, a picnic table, water play and some ripping nature play equipment for the kids to explore, this is a real winner. There aren't any toilets however which was a shame. We found it suitable for all ages and is just a relaxing, tranquil setting which is the ideal stop as you explore our beautiful Adelaide Hills.
