The only Island you will need in 2021! This brand new kid on the Gouger St block makes for a brilliant and easy family dinner. C’mon, who doesn’t love spaghetti…….

You have to love a food and beverage outlet that does one thing, simply and well. Like really really well. The spaghetti menu is sophisticated, not over complicated and presents enough options to keep everyone in the family happy. We sampled four of the spaghetti dishes on our visit (needless to say we have left overs for lunch today…..can’t wait) and also enjoyed what can only be described as the lightest, best tiramisu we have ever eaten. There were actual kids tears (and almost a full blown sibling punch up, let’s be honest) over who got the last spoonful – I’m so tempted to post those photos, but here are some more appropriate choices… on below.

So, this is some seriously good, cooked to ‘al dente’ perfection, spaghetti. Spaghetti you’ll never forgetti. Bring your Mum, your Nonna, your kids or a bunch of mates. Stop in for a quick bite on your commute or after your central market shop or grab a feed to go. You will also find it available for delivery via Deliveroo and Uber Eats. The food offering is beautifully matched with a nice little selection of beers, wines and of course cocktails (that are super reasonably priced). You’ll love the bright fit-out and cosy nooks and tables, with an option to eat alfresco if that’s your thing.

You’ll find traditional spaghetti, gluten free spaghetti and carb free spaghetti options here. It’s little wonder these guys have thought of it all, you are in experienced hands with this team who have a long successful history serving up quality nosh around Adelaide, you’ll know them from iconic venues like Ruby Red Flamingo, Spaghetti Crab, Spaghetti Meatball, Coccobella, L’Italy and more….

We loved the opportunity to order a few things and share – kind of felt like a family dinner of homemade food for the soul – without lifting a finger, and the kids loved the novelty of serving themselves up from the spaghetti tower. (Insert all of the Dr Seuss lines here…)

Opening hours: Tuesday – Saturday 5pm to 9pm

  • If you love a cafe with good coffee, lots of space, a kids menu and a 10/10 runny poached egg then you'll have to put Pippo at North Adelaide into the mix for your next family meal out. Pippo is located in North Adelaide, at the entrance to North Adelaide Village. It only opened last year and it's so light, spacious and fresh. Inside and outside seating available as well as a small courtyard area with a glass fence that will keep little ones from running out onto the road. It's great to be able to sit outside and not have to worry about that. Inside there is plenty of room for prams and high chairs, you won't feel like you're sitting on top of eachother. Plenty of seating options - inside and outside Pippo is open from 7am til late for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We popped in to check out the breakfast and coffee and it was delicious! Miss 7 ordered pancakes with ice cream and maple a side of bacon (because is there anything else that beats that for a special treat for breakfast?) and I got the mushrooms on toast topped with two perfectly poppable poached…
