The Olive Branch Cafe is located in beautiful Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills, and before you groan and say “too far” it’s really not. It’s actually less than 30kms from Adelaide CBD, an easy 20 minute drive from the bottom of  the freeway. You’ll feel like your further away though, this town is lovely!

What’s even lovelier is The Olive Branch Cafe which you’ll find in the Junction Shopping Centre.

The cafe is MADE for parents and kids, and they go out of their way to ensure that not only the adults enjoy their meal, but the kids have a great time too. One corner of the cafe is a fenced play area with heaps of books, toys, walkers, colouring in, building blocks etc. There is also a range of healthy (and a few not so healthy) meal and snack options and they are more than happy to cater for those with special dietary needs. Gluten free, lactose intolerant? – no problem!

There’s plenty of room for multiple strollers, and how nice is that when you don’t have to stumble and bump your way around a cafe with your pram!

The cafe also run “Crafty Kids Mornings” every Tuesday morning during term time where preschool kids can partake in supervisied craft, cooking and play for only $7 a 45min session. Sessions held at 9:45 & 10:30am – bookings recommended, first session free!

On the first Wednesday and Third Tuesday evening of every month – Coffee, Craft and Chat. An eclectic group of ladies from young Mums to Grannies! We knit, sew, crochet, spin, scrapbook – whatever you’re into that’s portable. There’s also lots of chat, laughter, sharing of skills and most importantly – coffee, tea, the best hot chocolate in the Hills and homemade cakes and desserts for sale.

On Saturday evening’s The Olive Branch hosts a variety of Family Night’s that include family entertainment to keep the kids busy while you have dinner! Upcoming events include Aug 30th – Magician Rich Tieger and Sept 6th Birdie and the Tweets musical, interactive fun with a wide range of kids and adult songs to enjoy.
