Wing it in the West
I might be biased because I am from the west but you could honestly spend Australia Day on a mini metro roadtrip from Semaphore to Brighton with lots of stops in between… like Henley or Glenelg.
Take in the Semaphore Summer Carnival on its last weekend, keep driving to take in the Big Wedgie in West Beach and a little further down the beach and head to Brighton for the jetty classic kids sculptors. A great way to keep local and take in a whole lot of fun another idea is to flip it and start at Brighton and end at Semaphore for the fireworks.

Open Air Cinema
Presented by the City of Charles Sturt ; Movies under the Stars will be presented at Rex Jones Reserve, Allchurch Avenue, North Plympton.
Enjoy a balmy night in Adelaide while watching a movie under the stars, this coming long weekend, grab a picnic rug, call some friends and enjoy a movie with a kids face painter, BBQ, Giant games and more ! Just turn up for a fantastic night without having to do a thing! More details can be found here
9. Host a multicultural BBQ
Hosting Australia Day at your house? Why not do it with a twist and ask each guest to bring a dish that best represents their ancestry. With Australia being so diverse in cultures you will be sure to end up with a table full of great stories on their background.
To add some comedy in the background add some classic Australia Movies like The Castle, Muriel’s Wedding and Pricilla Queen of the Desert.
No plans the best plans !
