Reconciliation Week – Be a Voice for Generations

29/05/2023 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM ACST

Free

National Reconciliation Week is an opportunity to reflect on the past, current and future relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Australians.

This year’s theme Be A Voice for Generations aims to keep up the momentum for change and encourage all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation.

The City of Salisbury will be recognising National Reconciliation Week and its theme with a free event held at the Salisbury Community Hub on Monday 29 May.

This event will invite young and elder Aboriginal leaders to share their vision of reconciliation and keeping up the momentum for change.

Speakers include:

  • Uncle Rodney Obrien a prominent Kaurna elder, nominated Australian of the Year 2021 SA Local Hero and cultural advisor at the University of Adelaide.
  • Mitchel Odegaard a proud Larrakia man, a resident of the City of Salisbury, a player at the Salisbury Football Club and a former recipient of the Phoebe Wanganeen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship.
