“Find out why I’m good at maths and love reading!”

At Kumon, students begin study at a level that allows them to build confidence from day one.

Students progress through the programmes based on their ability rather than their age. Over time, students can study advanced material confidently and independently for success in school and everyday life.

The Kumon Mathematics and English programmes develop:

  • calculation ability and reading ability
  • concentration
  • a daily study and reading habit
  • the confidence to learn independently.

The PIEA Project

Kids struggling with a tricky concept at school? Or do they just want to turn that A into an A+?

The PIEA Project is a not-for-profit organisation which offers free, high calibre tutoring and education services to disadvantaged students who otherwise would not be able to access this type of quality education assistance. PIEA stands for ‘Promote Improvement, Equity, Achievement’. PIEA aims to be an organisation within which students can thrive, flourish and improve their educational prospects and outcomes after high school.

Tutoring is available for all ages from Reception to Year 12.

All PIEA project volunteer tutors also have at least one year of tutoring experience and scored an ATAR over 90. All tutors have a WWCC, RRHAN-EC training and a current first aid certificate. Their program offers assistance to students of all ages, in a wide range of subjects – have a chat to them about which subjects your child requires assistance with. The program will run each Thursday afternoon during school terms, from 4:30-5:30.

In today’s world we all want up-to-date information and a hardcopy manual can easily get outdated or not be there when you need it.  To solve both these issues, there is a growing number of fantastic first aid apps that have up-to-date, evidenced-based information ready when you need it.  I want to share with you my favourite 3 first aid apps which all have the added bonus of being free…. Allens Training App As the name suggests, this app has been developed by Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.  Think of it as a quick reference first aid guide that goes wherever your mobile does.  It is easy and quick to navigate through and very…
