The AdventureRooms games have become some of the most successful activities for birthday parties and family fun in cities across the globe, with over 30 venues world-wide including one here in Adelaide.

Game room designs were created by a physics teacher in Bern, Switzerland in 2012. To play, players enter the rooms in teams and will have 1 hour to work together to solve puzzles, crack codes, and find hidden objects and rooms in an attempt to escape. The 5 rooms feature individual themes – Gaol Break, The Black Queen, The Mad Scientist, The Speakeasy, and Mafia. There are both Standard (2-7 players) and Duel (8-14 players) formats of the games.

Depending on the size of the teams, players can expect to pay $28-$38 each per game, with vouchers also available for the perfect gift. It is recommended for an older audience with children under 16 needing to be accompanied by an adult. Its global success is largely attributed to its popularity with corporate team building events, students, parties, sporting clubs and family outings.

AdventureRooms is quickly becoming the most popular amusement activity in Adelaide with a 5-star rating on Facebook, Google and TripAdvisor. Only 30% of people escape… Can You?

The Creative Experiences Workshop

The Creative Experiences workshop is designed for children 5 – 15 years old. Through various disciplines we explore the planetarium with a unique curriculum inspired by Roman mythology and the solar system. The curriculum is divided into age groups with different focuses for each.

The lessons develop skills in music, dance, design and collaboration, all culminating in a student-faculty performance with Artists By Any Other Name, a New York City based interdisciplinary ensemble. The performance is a marriage of music and dance celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Students also have the opportunity to attend an Adelaide Symphony Orchestra rehearsal as well as showcase their talent as an individual or in a group ensemble at ASO’s Grainger Studio.

School Holidays at the National Motor Museum – GooRoo Animation – Make Your Own Movies!

Visit the National Motor Museum this school holidays and make your very own ‘Brick Film’. Drawing inspiration from the vehicles on display at the museum, kids can create their own Lego car chase, or assemble their own unique vehicle.

GooRoo Animation workshops will be held on the first weekend of the holidays where you can learn to create your very own movies. They will teach you about what goes into making a film, giving you a behind the scenes glimpse into producing an animated movie.

Movies will be filmed and put together using the Stop Motion Studio App available on mobile devices. They will then be uploaded to YouTube via the GooRoo Animation Workshops channel so you can share them with all your friends and family.

The Bigger Book of Pirates – A Dragon’s Tale
Join Captain Salmonbeard and his reluctant crew during the holidays at the South Australian Maritime Museum for another perilous adventure on the seven seas. The bumbling crew of scallywags and misfits have become lost at sea on their very first attempt at becoming ‘real’ pirates. While wallowing in the watery wilderness, a mysterious, though strangely familiar visitor, emerges from the depths and offers them help. The crew are going to having to write their own book of piracy as they’ve strayed so far off course. And according to pirate legend, that book can only be written in dragon’s blood… The Bigger Book of Pirates is an adventure packed with surprises, on an ocean of possibility. Produced by the ever popular HeapsGood Productions, The Bigger Book of Pirates features performers from both HeapsGood and the critically acclaimed Adelaide Youth Theatre.
