The July school holidays can sometimes be a bit cold and wet, but that’s no reason for the kids to be bored! SIGNATURE FILM MAKING WORKSHOP
Write the script, act, direct, film and edit a short film over four days!
Held over four consecutive days and is a tried and tested program that produces the best results. Many of the films created in previous workshops have gone on to win national and international awards!
Students make a short film and learn everything from concept, scriptwriting, directing, to acting and editing with the use of top quality film equipment and software. Led by our expert teachers, this is a workshop you do not want to miss out on! Please note that this workshop is strictly limited to a maximum of 10 students so early bookings are strongly recommended.

In July 2021, the school holiday program kids will rehearse and perform ELLA ENCHANTED!
Much like Combo classes held during the term, students attending the holiday program should expect the performance to be a combination of singing, dancing and acting.
At the end of the week, the production will be performed to a live audience*, with a possible restriction of audience members per performer and facemask requirement.

Each 3 hour session revolves around a special theme and includes craft, stories, dressing up, dance, drama, music and creative play.
The fun-filled sessions are designed to stimulate the child’s imagination, and introduce them to basic performing arts skills while you enjoy some ‘child-free’ time!
At the end of each session, the children perform a dance routine for parents/carers. Children are welcome to come along dressed in a costume! Each session is conducted by experienced Theatre Bugs staff.

Fortunately, the Adelaide University Sport School Holiday Program is back with a wide range of sporting activities to keep your children occupied.
The AU Sport School Holiday Program focuses on building your child’s self-esteem, social skills and physical movement through fun and inclusive activities. Wings2Fly Junior is an informal introduction to theatre, suitable for young actors aged 6-10 years. Students will be separated into small groups on the first morning (keeping friends together). Each group will have their own director and together they will rehearse and learn a short play in only 3 days, ready to perform on the stage to family and friends on the final evening. There will also be time for drama games and activities over the workshop.
This performance will include basic costumes, set, props and the most important thing – lights – fully supported by Wings2FlyTheatre’s highly regarded industry professionals.

The annual Family Fun Fair during the July School Holidays at the National Railway Museum is bound to please lots of families, with the usual wide variety of train rides, entertainment – representing great value for money.

National Railway Museum
The National Railway Museum, the largest undercover railway museum in Australia, will be open every day of the School Holidays from 10am to 4.30pm.
Loads to see and do, with carriages to explore as well as a large model railway and displays..
See the famous Tea & Sugar Train and say hello to Bob the Railway Dog. And there is a miniature train that takes visitors for rides around the huge site, and that experience is included in the admission fees. The National Motor Museum will be running animation workshops teaching participants about what goes into making a film, providing a behind the scenes glimpse into producing an animated movie.

In these animation workshops, we will explore the visible and invisible parts of our identity by making individual animations that tell our identity stories. Participants will be provided with an iPad and stylus and taught to use the digital animation program ‘Procreate’, and sound program ‘Garage band’.
You will work with artists Anna Hickey-Moody and Angelica Harris-Faull in developing visual expressions of the invisible and visible parts of your identity and telling a story about why these aspects of yourself matter. Bookings essential.
