Adelaide Youth Theatre presents Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

April 21 – 24 Influencers Theatre, Paradise

Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and a book by David Greig.
The score also pays homage to the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley score from the 1971 film with songs from the motion picture including “Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” “Oompa Loompa Song,” and “Pure Imagination.”

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas.

Windmill presents Hiccup

Windmill follows the whirlwind success of Bluey’s Big Play with the world premiere of Hiccup by Jude Henshall and Ellen Steele.

It’s a perfect, balmy night in the outback. A sleep-deprived camper, a cheeky quokka and an emu with a penchant for creating wild inventions, awake to discover that a koala has come down with a stubborn and ear-shatteringly loud case of the hiccups. The three embark on a hilarious journey through the night that sees them eat, sing and invent their way toward the great hiccup cure.

Brought to the stage by the creatives behind beloved performances like Grug and Beep, Hiccup is a rocking musical extravaganza about working together, finding friendship and how to, once and for all, stop the hiccups.
