Together, with the help of some hard working Aliens, the kindest of Fairies and some sassy dancing Mermaids, Ellie discovers some important lessons from the Starz.

“The songs are so catchy, and I can’t wait for everyone else to have them stuck in their head as much as I do!”

Shakespeare Australia presents Alice in Wonderland

This Spring come along to the Adelaide Botanic Garden from Saturday 28 September to Sunday 13 October and enjoy Lewis Carroll’s classic story ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Cleverly lifted from the page and beautifully brought to life in Glenn Elston’s highly acclaimed production that was awarded “Best Stage Play” by London’s Entertainment Views in 2018”.

In this roller-coaster story, Alice’s life is suddenly turned upside down as she tumbles down the rabbit hole and lands in the magical world of “Wonderland”. As Alice bravely bounces from one unexpected and amazing situation to the next she meets a wildly curious assortment of characters including the skittish, constantly late White Rabbit, the Dodo and other birds in the Caucaus race and the pepper obsessed Duchess and her extremely crazy cook. The Cheshire Cat will leave you with a grin and you can’t fail to miss Humpty Dumpty on his way to meet Tweedledum and Tweedledee as they tell the tale of the Walrus and the Carpenter. What might seem slightly silly becomes downright absurd as the Mad Hatter arrives with the March Hare and the Dormouse to have a grand old time with Alice at the tea party. Enter The Queen of Hearts as a magnificent finale – this is where everyone, both young and perhaps a little bit older can be part of the fun.

Presented with interactive games and catchy songs this is a perfect way to go on a wonderful Wonderland adventure with the entire family. So pack a basket and your picnic rug and head on down to the Garden.

School Holidays at the South Australian Maritime Museum – Pirates in their PJ’s

Pirates in their PJ’s gives us a glimpse into some of the things that can go wrong while sailing in search of excitement. It tells the story about how adventures are seldom as glorious as we would like them to be.

What was it like having to deal with pirates? What do you do if the food runs out or the winds stop? How do you cope if your clothes are washed overboard, and all you have are your pyjamas?
Follow Captain Pedro Pyjama and his crew on their adventure to almost discover some of the world’s greatest treasures… as they never quite make it to where they are going, or if they do are always the last. Come dressed in your pyjamas, strike a pose somewhere in the Museum and post a pic on social media to win a prize.

Weekdays – Monday 30 September to Friday 11 October 2019| Performances weekdays at 11am and 1pm, $6 per child includes the lighthouse (bookings not required). Ages 7-16.

School Holidays at the National Motor Museum – GooRoo Animation – Make Your Own Movies!

30 September, 1 and 2 October 11am – 3pm, free with Museum admission (bookings preferred)

Visit the National Motor Museum this school holidays and make your very own ‘Brick Film’. Drawing inspiration from the vehicles on display at the museum, kids can create their own Lego car chase, or assemble their own unique vehicle.

GooRoo Animation workshops will be held on the first weekend of the holidays where you can learn to create your very own movies. They will teach you about what goes into making a film, giving you a behind the scenes glimpse into producing an animated movie.

Movies will be filmed and put together using the Stop Motion Studio App available on mobile devices. They will then be uploaded to YouTube via the GooRoo Animation Workshops channel so you can share them with all your friends and family.

See the South Australian Museum in a whole new way these school holidays!

The Shadow Initiation is a brand new digital adventure game, that takes you on a race against the clock around the Museum trying to earn enough points to gain entry to a top-secret society. There are puzzles to solve, challenges to undertake and tasks to complete. Unlock the secrets of the Museum and discover secrets only players of The Shadow Initiation can uncover. It’s exciting, challenging and unlike anything you have experienced at the Museum before.

The aim of the game is to work with family and friends to accrue as many points as you race through the Museum’s archives and collections. Taking place on a tablet, up to four people can play at one time. With over 40 challenges to choose from and one hour on the clock, players work their way through the Museum, strategically selecting which challenges to accept and trying to complete as many as possible within the allocated time. This experience is not recommended for children under 7 and requires a person 16 or over to leave ID with the Museum Shop for the duration of the tablet hire. This is the most fun you’ve EVER had at the Museum. Are you worthy? Only time will tell…

General Public – $49 per tablet (for up to 4 people)
Museum Member – $35 per tablet (for up to 4 people)
