School Holiday Programs & Classes in Adelaide
Big Brains Tiny Hands at Urth Clay Studio
Big Brain Tiny Hands is Urth Clay Studio’s one-off pottery classes prioritise experimentation and muddy fun over seeking perfection.
Unlike traditional approaches, they encourage kids to freely explore shapes and textures, fostering a sense of joy in the creative process while introducing a step to step guidance sometimes to teach how to create a strong piece.
The therapeutic experience of working with clay provides a meditative environment for kids to de-stress and express themselves artistically.
With hands-on, tactile engagement, classes offer a break from screens, allowing children to immerse themselves in the sensory pleasure of clay.
Expert guidance, rather than strict rules, empowers kids to bring their unique visions to life, creating an atmosphere of liberating creativity.
Join them for a memorable, screen-free experience that celebrates the joy of pottery and inspires the young artist in every child.

Parkour Workshops
Your tweens and teens will love giving this a try these school holidays!
A children’s parkour workshop can be a fun and engaging way to introduce young people to the exciting world of Parkour and urban acrobatics. These workshops typically offer a range of activities designed to develop participants’ strength, agility, and coordination, while also teaching them key functional tips and techniques for navigating obstacles safely and effectively.
One popular activity in children’s parkour workshops is the obstacle course. This might involve setting up a series of challenging obstacles, such as walls, bars, and balance beams, that participants must navigate using a variety of acrobatic techniques. Other activities might include games that promote teamwork and communication, such as relay races or partner exercises. Throughout the workshop, instructors will be on hand to provide guidance and support, offering tips on how to land safely, balance effectively, and overcome obstacles with ease. Sensory friendly evening
Pay-what-you-can | 5.00pm – 7.00pm | Wednesday 9 October
A quiet, sensory friendly evening for visitors of all ages, their families, friends, and support workers.
Visitors with sensory and/or accessibility needs can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the Museum out of hours. This is a chance to see all the permanent galleries, the latest exhibitions, and maybe discover something you’ve never noticed before.
While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for our neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. Some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum will be altered for the evening to make it a more sensory friendly experience.
Attendees can enjoy the Museum’s galleries and exhibitions and sensory backpacks will be available to borrow free of charge.
This is a ticketed event for people with sensory and/or accessibility needs and their accompanying family, friends, and support workers.
Please purchase a ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.
