Let’s Batik (Indonesian Batik Workshop)

Let’s create a beautiful printed tapestry or apron that you’ll be proud to showcase. You’ll use brush painting & Tjanting to create the resist art with hot beeswax.
Indonesian batik pieces are highly priced due to their intricacy. You’ll be guided by Rehana to finish your very own batik tapestry.

Rehana is the only batik artist in SA teaching at various councils, schools and WEA. She has spent several months learning at the National Batik Museum of Jakarta. In 2009, Indonesian Batik was titled to be the masterpiece of intangible human heritage by UNESCO.
