Making Monsters at Children’s Artspace
Professional visual artist Jess Taylor, our very own ‘Victor Frankenstein’, taught the inventive students of Klemzig Primary School how to design monsters for Children’s Artspace.
Before the students started building their creations, they attended ‘Monster School’. During these workshops, Jess explained the history of monsters, and why most monsters are terrifying because they are part human, part something else, like a werewolf, zombie, vampire, or mermaid.
Jess wanted the students to be able to design their monsters in three dimensions, aiming to create wicked 3D prints and augmented reality models. To do this, the students had to use an application called Makers Empire that allows students and teachers to learn about design and technology and create 3D renders of their creatures one shape at a time.
Creep around Children’s Artspace and find each of the monsters by scanning the QR codes with each of our 3D creatures. You can even become a monster yourself with our brand new interactive screens!
