Yitpi Yartapuultiku Opening Day – Soul of Port Adelaide Aboriginal Cultural Centre

You’re invited to a free community celebration marking the official opening of Yitpi Yartapuultiku – Soul of Port Adelaide, a new Aboriginal Cultural Centre grounded in Kaurna Country. Held during Parnatti (autumn to winter) and Waitpi (windy season), the event will feature a cultural ceremony and performance, exhibitions, a self-guided trail, Aboriginal maker stalls, and family-friendly activities.

Explore the riverside grounds, nature play spaces, and discover ancient stories through sculpture and curated art by Aboriginal custodians. Yitpi Yartapuultiku is a space for truth-telling, connection, creativity and community – a welcoming place for all to learn, reflect and grow.

Please note: There is no parking on site. Visitors are encouraged to park in surrounding streets (check signage), use Port Plaza’s designated car parks (Old Port Road and Hack Street), or consider public transport.
