Get ready for an enchanting evening at Aus Lights on the River, where Tarntanya Wama/Elder Park comes alive with vibrant illuminations and captivating experiences for the whole family!

This two-day program (Thursday, 25 January, and Friday, 26 January) will showcase Our SA Story through immersive, visually engaging light, vision, and sound installations supported with complimentary children’s activations.

The 2024 Aus Lights on the River Program will be inspired by creative visions of Belonging to Country and Connecting to Nature.

  • Rotunda Illumination – Luminous Currents
    The Rotunda transforms into a Seaquarium, showcasing the diversity of life in our waterways. Dive into a mesmerising world of sea mammals, fish, and invertebrates.
  • Leaping Light – Festival Centre Shells
    Experience the beauty of Australia’s waterways through moving images capturing the creatures that call them home. Step lightly and help protect their habitats!
  • Sparkles the Cuttlefish
    Embark on an adventure with Sparkles the Giant Inflatable Cuttlefish! Enjoy a journey celebrating South Australia’s aquatic environments, complete with underwater soundscapes.
  • Marine Maze
    Explore the underwater world like a fish or an octopus in this unique immersive experience. Discover the colours and textures of reefs while nurturing the biodiversity within.
  • Ocean Odyssey Dome – VR Experience
    Dive into the Dome for a total immersion with VR technology and thematic after-dark projections. Experience an undersea adventure with whale sharks, cuttlefish, and more!
  • Dive into Creativity
    Unleash your creativity with a hands-on art installation experience celebrating South Australia’s aquatic environments. Connect with nature and co-create stunning artwork with your family.
  • Illuminated Country
    Reflect on the meaning of Country as light spills across the River, sharing stories and contemplations through time. What does Country mean to you?
  • Cinematic Fireworks Display
    Experience a ten-minute-long display expressing the diversity of nature, culture, and the visual themes of our Country. A collaboration of music, moving images, and fireworks!
  • Food Hub
    4 pm to 11 pm on January 25th and 26th. Discover a world of diverse flavours at our licensed Food Hub area.
