Celebrate 80 years of stories, magic and imagination!
Since 1945 the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) has brought children and books together across Australia by celebrating Children’s Book Week. During this joyous, special week, schools, public libraries, bookshops and families across the country celebrate books and the Australian children’s authors and illustrators who create them.
To wrap up this year’s Book Week in style, we’re throwing a big birthday bash for CBCA’s 80th year, and you’re invited!
Join us at the State Library for a Birthday Book Adventure packed with fun. Enjoy live performances by StorySnorts, cheer on lightning-fast illustrators in the ‘Draw-Off’, explore the Library with your very own passport, and pick up giveaways along the way. There’ll be authors and illustrators to meet, a bookish lucky dip to enter, and plenty of surprises for curious minds.
Come celebrate 80 years of imagination, creativity and the stories that connect us.
This event is free, with bookings required.
