Doggy Day in May – City of Charles Sturt

May 1, 2026 - May 31, 2026

Doggy Day in May is the City of Charles Sturt’s annual event series for dogs and their humans. The program runs throughout May, with a month-long lineup of FREE and affordable sessions, workshops and activities focused on building confident, happy dogs and supporting responsible pet ownership.

This event series is a great opportunity to reward your best friend with a ‘pawesome’ month of learning, socialising and tail-wagging fun.

What’s on this May?
We’ll have so many amazing activities on offer including:

🐶 Community Dog Walks – relaxed group walks guided by our Pets of Charles Sturt team.
🐾 Training and Behaviour Seminars – topics like body language, reducing barking, managing reactivity and preparing for a new puppy.
🦴 FREE Puppy Playgroups – safe, structured socialisation for puppies up to 6 months old
🐕‍🦺 Q&A Ask a Trainer Session – pop in and ask us anything about dog training and behaviour.

Doggy Day in May promotes responsible dog ownership, safe community behaviour, and the wellbeing of both dogs and their humans. The sessions help owners better understand training, behaviour and socialisation, while also highlighting the role Council plays in supporting animal management.

Bookings are essential for all events in the Doggy Day in May series. Places are limited and some sessions may book out.
