Minda Community Christmas Carols and Markets
The countdown is on for Minda’s most anticipated annual event that gets everyone in the festive spirit – the Community Christmas Carols and Markets – promising to be bigger and better than ever on Saturday 6 December, from 2pm-7pm.
Minda is changing things up this year – enjoy free entry and carparking available on site, while the same exciting Christmas celebrations will still be on offer like no other featuring live music and entertainment, market stalls, food trucks, rides and amusements, face painting, a petting zoo, Christmas carols (of course!) and a visit from the big man himself – Santa!
Minda CE Dr David Panter says the carols event is a tradition staff, clients and the wider community hold dear, as it embodies the values that drive the organisation.
“This Carols event is all about reconnecting – with our community, our loved ones, and the spirit of Christmas. After another busy year, we couldn’t be prouder to host this day, showcasing and supporting local musicians and businesses. It’s the perfect way for everyone to step back, relax, and truly enjoy the Christmas season together,” he
says.
This year’s highlights include entertainment from the 10th/27th Battalion Royal SA Regiment Band, Australian Girls Choir, Pocco Tutti Choir, and over 14 food vendors including Boost Juice, Heaps Good Gin, St Louis Ice Cream, Toly Vietnamese, licensed bar area, sausage sizzle and more.
There will also be an incredible raffle with over $5000 worth of prizes to be won including vouchers and goods from over 40 different donors such as Adelaide Arcade, Heaps Good Gin, Bickford’s, Phil Hoffmann Travel, TerryWhite Chemmart Marion Compounding, and Adelaide Central Market.
Hosted this year by MC Nancy Timpano, the Community Christmas Carols and Markets is a fundraising event to help bridge the gap between funding from the NDIS for Minda clients, and everything else that comes along with living a full and good life.
This includes programs that help the people Minda supports to learn new skills and be part of groups where they form new friendships, transport to and from activities, attending community events and much more.
Simply by attending the event and taking part in the day, the community is helping to support everyone and ensure they have the opportunity to live a full and connected life.
