OzAsia Festival

OzAsia Festival 2025: 17 October – 9 November
Australia’s leading contemporary arts festival celebrating Asian and Asian Australian culture is back — and this year, OzAsia Festival spans four weekends across Adelaide!
Expect world premieres, live music, theatre, dance, comedy, immersive installations, and plenty of free, family-friendly fun.
Family Friendly Highlights include:
- Moon Lantern Trail
Thursday 23 – Sunday 26 October
A beloved OzAsia highlight, the Moon Lantern Trail lights up the riverbank with more than a dozen giant lanterns, roving performers, and colourful puppets. Follow the 40-metre-long Hong Kong Dragon across the footbridge and explore a magical night-time adventure the whole family will love. This free event also includes delicious food stalls and live performances in a vibrant festival atmosphere.
- Moon Garden – NEW in 2025!
Within Moon Lantern Trail, Pinky Flat
This year, kids and families can enjoy hands-on fun with the new Moon Garden program. There’ll be free performances and creative workshops in lantern-making, origami, calligraphy, storytelling, and more — all run by local artists and communities. A perfect way to introduce children to Asian cultural traditions through art and play.
- Lucky Dumpling Market
Elder Park
Opens 17 October
Back by popular demand, the Lucky Dumpling Market serves up the best Asian street eats from local vendors, alongside free live music and performances on the OzAsia Festival stage. Grab a bao, dumpling, or bubble tea, then enjoy family-friendly acts in a lively riverside setting. Great for a weekend outing or dinner with a cultural twist!
- Hu木an – sold out
Adelaide Botanic Garden
Created by The Artground and Sensorium Theatre, Hu木an (meaning “forest” in Malay) is a multisensory, inclusive theatre adventure for children with access needs and their friends. Kids can explore textured leaves, smell flowers, and play hide-and-seek with forest animals like Hornbill and Owl. Inspired by the Tails from the Coasts exhibition, this gentle, imaginative journey is full of surprises — from helping Kingfisher care for her eggs to joining cheeky Gibbons for a fruity picnic. A beautiful and accessible experience for little ones.
