Learn the age-old art of traditional Italian sauce making at the Adelaide Central Market’s Sauce Day.
Sauce Day (Passata day) is a ritual for Italian/Australian family and friends to come together for a fun day creating traditional passata. This year, the extended program includes 5 sauce making sessions, kids gnocchi making sessions, live music, roving entertainment, cooking demonstrations and specials Central Market traders.
At one of the five hands-on sessions, you’ll use local tomatoes and learn the traditional techniques of authentic Italian tomato sauce making and you’ll get to take home your very own jar of sauce!
Anyone who loves Italian culture will enjoy these fun sessions, and the classes are suitable for all ages and cooking abilities. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a supervising adult and should be included in the ticket of the adult attending.
$25 per head + booking fee. Bookings essential.

Saturday 1 March 9am (9am session 16+ years only), 11am, 1pm
Kids can learn how to make athentic Italian gnocchi at this fun hands-on class.
With fresh produce sourced from our traders, the team from Sprout will teach participants how to make gnocchi from scratch. Each class will include a small take away meal for one!
These classes are suitable for children aged 6-12 years. Children outside of this age group will not be allowed to participate and refunds will not be offered.
$22 per head + booking fee. Bookings essential.
