The Great Botanic Seed Swap and Share

Calling all budding green thumbs! Gather the whole family for a fun community celebration of seeds and home gardening at the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Saving seeds is a great way to cut down on gardening costs and protect biodiversity.

Come along to discover new seeds for your kitchen garden, connect with a community of like-minded garden lovers and have fun at this fete-like festival of seeds!

Bring in your saved seeds to share and leave with something new to plant in your garden.
Don’t have any saved seeds? Don’t worry! For a small donation, you can purchase tokens to swap for seeds.

There is a lot to see and do with fun stalls, hands-on kid’s activities, guided tours, live music, a sausage sizzle and more!

Activities
• Seed swapping table
• Drawing demonstration, and opportunity to have a go, by the Friends Botanical Art Group.
Small paintings for sale – 10% proceeds to Seed Conservation Centre
• Bird snap table and nature crafts by the Diggers Club
• Plant a seed to take home and a touch table by the Botanic Gardens Education team
• Learn to fold origami seed packets, native seed giveaway, resources on wildlife friendly gardening, ID charts by Green Adelaide
• Tomato Tombola – spin to win a tomato starter kit, or lots of other prizes!
• Make a badge to commemorate the day
• “Which Bin?” Activation – talk to a member of the resource recovery team from City of Adelaide and ask all your recycling questions
• Sausage Sizzle
• Pods Hold Stories: seed drawing workshop. Get arty with local artist Stephanie Doddridge.
