If you like ducks then Balham Ave Reserve in Kingswood is the playground for you, sitting right next to the Urrbrae Wetland this is a small and fairly basic playground with a cool, apex rope/spider climbing frame and a dual swing set.

The centre piece of Balham Ave Reserve is a pirate-themed multi-purpose unit including a rope climb, slide and monkey bars and several other pieces of equipment which I don’t know the names for but were enjoyed by my three and five-year-old sons!

The playground sits off a dead end so parking is limited but its adjacent a bike path which provides alternate access. Facilities are limited with no toilets, tables or bins but there are several bench seats and ample natural shade. Drink fountains are a little walk away.

The main piece of equipment includes lots of climbing for the little ones to explore. Using such skills such climb up, over and under, through and around to encourage different motor skills and learning. A lovely grassed area surrounds the play equipment so allows the little ones a run. As this is a local playground there are not any cafes within walking distance so I would suggest pack snacks or do a quick stop on the way. Nice little…

Ideal for an easy boredom buster for younger kids, a convenient playground for multiple little humans and without having to find a park or walk too far at all. A shade cloth covers the main play area and is most suitable for younger kids under five and those beginning to navigate the playground equipment by themselves. The equipment has: swings, spring rider, slides, climbing and balancing equipment, spinning table and a HUGE flying fox if you do bring a dare devil along! • Located right next door to the Glandore Kindy you could alomost miss this little playground if you did not know it was there. That would be a shame. Lucky we love a challenge and found this little beauty. As soon as I entered the gate of this playground I just loved the vibe. I could hear the kids playing next door at the Kindy and could see that this space catered for the toddlers and junior primary kids. The toddlers have lots of grass to run around on and a variety of things to keep them happy and entertained. The favourite bouncy animals, sand pit, the 4 seat bouncy sea saw and swing set are just a few. The park features lost of climbing pieces including a rock climbing wall, metal climbing frame and stairs. It also has a few games the kids can play whilst up at the top of the frame. Great news is there are a lot of metal bars at the top of the frame to avoid kids falling down. There are also a few kids games to play once up the top. The stand out feature of this playground is the choice of slides. Yes…
