Dig into the fossilised past these school holidays with a hands-on workshop exploring the ancient oceans that once covered our own backyard.
Join palaeontologist and artist Riley in the Learning Space, level 2, and explore fascinating fossil specimens that lived, died, and sunk to the ocean floor at different stages of the distant past, from ammonites and crinoids to corals.
You will assemble your own unique aquatic fossil creature which will then be cast in plaster for you to take home!
Along the way you’ll learn the answer to big questions like: “Does everything that dies become a fossil?” and “How can a few teeth tell us the story of a whole animal?”
