The all-new after dark experience exclusively conceived by Illuminate Adelaide, step outside the boundary of what you know as Night Visions transforms the secrets of Adelaide Botanic Garden into a gateway to the unknown. Fuelled by cutting-edge light, lasers, projections and sound, journey along an extraordinary path where the latest in immersive technology reimagines the beauty of nature into sensory realms of colour and sound.

Night Visions Dining Experience @ Botanic Lodge

Available to book Fridays – Sundays during the Night Visions season

Dine amongst the stunning natural beauty of the Adelaide Botanic Garden at Botanic Lodge with a special menu curated exclusively for Illuminate Adelaide. Nestled on the gardens’ lakefront between key Night Visions installations, The Lodge is truly one-of-a-kind in South Australia.

COST: $135 pp

Know Before You Go – Night Visions

Admission:

• Entry is via the Main Gate on North Terrace at your allocated session time only.
• Early or late arrivals will not be admitted.
• Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

Experience Duration:

• The Night Visions trail follows a curated, one-way path. Please allow approximately 60 minutes to complete the trail.
• If you’ve booked the Dining Experience, your total visit will take around 2 hours and 15 minutes (75 minutes dining + 60 minutes trail).

Accessibility & Safety:

• The experience includes smoke, haze, dark pathways, flashing lights, surround sound, and uneven terrain.
• Not recommended for prams or very young children. Baby carriers are suggested.
• The event will proceed rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather. No cloakroom is available.

On-Site Food & Beverage:

• The Schomburgk Pavilion will be open throughout the evening, offering food and beverage options during your Night Visions trail experience.

Kids in Adelaide Tips

Night Visions is the first Illuminate Adelaide event for 2025 and it’s seriously impressive. Here’s what we think families should know before heading along.

1. This is a ticketed event and you’ll want to give yourself around an hour to explore. We took our time, wandered through at a relaxed pace and even stopped halfway for a hot drink and snack at Evergreen Deli or the Shlomburghk Pavilion– a great little bonus along the way.
2. Pram access was easy, with smoother paths than we remembered from past years.
3. If you’re bringing young kids, we suggest giving them a glow stick or light-up wristband – they’ll love it, and you’ll spot them easily in the dark.
4. Kids under 4 are free, and our toddler was totally mesmerised the whole way through. There’s a soft soundtrack running throughout the trail, but no sudden or loud sounds, so it’s a great option for kids who are a bit noise-sensitive. Some of the display / light activations contain strong strobe lighting.
5. Yes, this one comes with a price tag, but it’s absolutely a premium experience. The quality and creativity behind this event are on another level. It honestly felt like we’d stepped into another world and all right here in the middle of the city.
