** IT IS WITH REGRET that we have decided to CANCEL PUBLIC RUN DAYS due to the increasing spread of covid-19 variant in S.A. This to protect our members and the visiting public. We hope to re-open in March 2022 (watch this web page for further information).**
Penfield Park Railway holds open days on the last Sunday of each month as well as the second Saturday during October to March, when they hold a twilight open day from 6pm until 9pm.
The Penfield Model Engineers Society (P.M.E.S) was formed with the primary aim of promoting the art of model and experimental engineering. The ride on miniature railway has a total track length of about 1.9km supporting both 7 ¼” and 5” gauge trains.
After leaving the station the railway runs through the outer edge of the park, crosses over itself via a gentle gradient and a steel bridge before passing through a tunnel on its way back to the station.
SA Health Covid-19 guidelines will be in place and must be complied with whilst on site. Passenger numbers on trains will be restricted and there may be delays between train rides.
