The Semaphore Train is back at the beach from Saturday 30 September 2023!
After its usual winter break, to service the steam engine and carriages, the very popular Semaphore Train will be back running in time for the next school holidays!
After celebrating 30 years of operation last season, green steam engine BILL and its bright yellow carriages will once again be crewed by trained volunteers from the National Railway Museum.
The Semaphore to Fort Glanville train departs from the foot of the jetty at the end of the popular Semaphore Road cafe strip, and parallels the Esplanade and the sand dunes of one of Adelaide’s most popular swimming beaches, before passing through the dunes near historic Fort Glanville at Point Malcolm.
The trains will depart every 45 minutes, from the Semaphore Jetty, starting from around 11am on every day of the school holidays (apart from Tuesdays and Thursdays).
