South Australian Aviation Museum’s Open Cockpit and Engine Run day

Head along to the South Australian Aviation Museum for its Open Cockpit and Engine Run Day.

Visitors can get inside the cockpits of the Douglas C-47 Dakota, Lockheed AP-3C Orion, de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou and Fokker F-27 Friendship. You can also get up close to the General Dynamics F-111, although visitors can’t sit in the seats due to safety concerns.

There will also be three engine runnings during the day, including the Rolls Royce Merlin and Kestrel, Siddeley Lynx and Cheetah, and Pratt & Whitney R-1340. Run times will be announced over the PA on the day.

Enjoy a sausage sizzle, coffee and ice cream vans, plus a giant second-hand book store in Hangar One.

Entry tickets are purchased at reception.
