The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers is an uplifting initiative matching teenage artists with South Australia’s most senior citizens. From storytelling, reminiscing, joy and laughter, come unique portraits, a gift and friendships to treasure between the generations. You are invited to meet South Australia’s centenarians and discover how each artist captures a moment of a 100-year life.
This community arts initiative promotes intergenerational friendships, celebrates life at 100 (in all its forms) and fights the negative ageing stigma. It is proudly sponsored by Estia Health; the Commonwealth Department of Health; the Office for Ageing Well, SA Health and supported by the Australian Human Rights Commission.
The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers exhibition is FREE and open to the general public from 21 – 30 June at the Drill Hall, Torrens Parade Ground, 1 Victoria Drive, Adelaide between 11-5pm daily.
