Kings Reserve in Torrensville is getting a huge makeover, with the much-loved reserve being transformed into a modern, family-friendly recreation space. The $8.5 million redevelopment will include new playgrounds for juniors and older kids, all-abilities play, a nature play area, skate park, BMX pump track, active recreation facilities, open lawns, shelters, BBQs and improved accessibility.
Works began in March 2026, with the project expected to be completed towards the end of this year
It’s set to become a fantastic new spot for families in Adelaide’s western suburbs. Stay tuned as we learn more.

This local playground /park is suitable for a mixture of age groups however the play equipment only caters for toddlers. The equipment features a small swing set including baby swing, 2 small slippery dips , a swinging hammock , climbing area and a couple of small play equipment. Half the area is covered by shade .What is great about this park/reserve is that the play equipment area is fenced off, has a good size grassed area and a half key basketball court. Within this area you also have the use of toilets and BBQ facilities. What I also like about this park is that outside the fenced playground area you also have the use of tennis courts and for the pooch lovers there is a huge dog park /sports field. It even has off street parking. Why not bring the family, put a sausage on the BBQ, have a hit of tennis or try for a slam dunk on the basketball key whilst you also get to keep the pooch happy at the dog park. Find it at: Rankine Road, Torrensville Frank Norton Reserve in Torrensville reopened in August 2025, undergoing an exciting transformation into a vibrant, family-friendly play space. The upgraded playground features a wide range of engaging equipment, including a climbing frame, flying fox, slides, swings, in-ground trampolines, sand and water play, hammocks, spinners, and even a hamster wheel. The design is inspired by the site’s mature fig tree and will include mounded lawn areas and winding paths to encourage natural, imaginative play. A new picnic and barbecue area with shaded seating makes it ideal for family gatherings, while irrigated turf zones provide plenty of space for games and relaxation. Wide, accessible paths will connect the playground with surrounding gardens, seating areas, and drinking fountains, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the space.
