Attention Northerners – An exciting northern suburbs Doughballs store is now open at Mawson Lakes!
I honestly can’t remember a time when I have been more impressed with a kids menu. Passionate about pizza, fresh SA produce and delivering a quality value offering and experience to families, we couldn’t rave more about our meal with the kids at DoughBalls, Moseley Square Glenelg. DoughBalls is serving up Brunch from 10am, Lunch, Dinner and takeaway! You can even just stop in for coffee and wait for it, they do *cocktails* (check out the bottomless Sunday Brunch).
They have also just launched a new Kid’s Menu as of April 15 2022 at Glenelg & April 19 2022 at Mawson Lakes. There’s a focus on healthy alternatives and providing some great options for the older children, as well as introducing some fantastic fresh options. Read on to find out more!

Firstly, what is a DoughBall anyway? Well, it’s a little warm ball of heaven to be honest. Served up plain with butters and pesto, or dressed with savoury or sweet toppings. Importantly kids will LOVE them.
Set smack bang in the heart of the square, we were toasty warm upstairs on the balcony, which was heated and enclosed for winter. I can only imagine this prime position will be a popular breezy, balmy delight in summer. The views set the perfect backdrop, although I must admit the kids were torn and drawn to the bright and colourful ‘beach hut style’ booths in restaurant. Dougballs also has downstairs alfresco seating, (complete with heater and blankets, or umbrellas for the sunnier months) a great option if you have strollers or kids that like some time on their feet when you are out.
Like many parents, owners Catriona and Lincoln felt they could rarely find a meal out that properly catered for the family market and let me tell you, they certainly have nailed a casual dining experience that has some amazing offerings for kids all at a really affordable price. For example; they currently have a kids three-course deal for just $12.90 which now includes a pop top drink, a starter, main & dessert with some fantastic new additions including a Chicken & Sweetcorn Pizza, Strawberry Jelly Pot and a Fresh Fruit Salad option, still including the old favourites of Unicorn DoughBalls and their delicious Ham & Pineapple Pizza.
They now also offer all children’s items a la carte for those that don’t want to eat the full 3 courses AND they have added the delicious NEW items
- Rainbow Pizza: a fresh Pizza with Red Onion, Spinach, Ham, Sweetcorn, Cherry Tomatoes and Mushrooms all displayed beautifully to represent a rainbow.
- Fresh Grazing Board with some amazing new alternatives.
- The Children’s menu is available all day everyday and each child gets an activity pack as well.
. The kicker? It includes fresh healthy food options + pizza + your kids are going to LOVE the doughballs and well dessert, goes without saying.

Beyond the awesome kids menu (lunch and dinner) we enjoyed fabulous pizzas for the adults and must have eaten our weight in ALL of the doughballs. My favourite was the signature dessert (pictured below) with vanilla, salted caramel and nutella, but I also loved the warm doughballs with a pesto dipping bowl starter. See, we really did eat ALL the balls.
Brunch is the new black. Ok, we think so at least. DoughBalls released a new brunch menu this month, and it’s fancy (and affordable). From French Toast and Choc Cinnamon inspired DoughBalls, to Bacon & Egg Doughballs or Breakfast Pizza, this cracking menu won us over on our most recent visit. You can even expect to find a $6.00 KIDS Brunch Menu or go all out on a Sunday for ‘Bottomless Brunch with all-inclusive bottomless cocktails! Yep, you heard right and it’s under $50.
The dessert menu is extensive and lavish and there is a notable quality beer and wine offering too.
You can visit for brunch, lunch or dinner, seven days a week (book here), and they have an extensive beachside cocktail menu for just $15 – $16. Of course, you can also do takeaway too and we are loving the quirky messages they write inside the pizza boxes!
What a spot to wander over to for a bite to eat after a day at the beach or a play on the foreshore playground!
For something completely different you can even book a kids pizza making party here! How good does that sound? Or hire the balcony or venue for a private function. Talk about a sweet location.
Grab a crew and book this one in, you won’t be disappointed. View the current menu here
