When you need a lunch or dinner spot in Glenelg or the Adelaide CBD, Doughballs is hands down, our Kids In Adelaide FAVOURITE spot for a family meal. The Glenelg restaurant is stunning with a balcony overlooking Moseley Square and their brand new Rundle Place restaurant is perfect for lunch or dinner before or after an activity in the city. Plus, you can also find Doughballs in McLaren Vale at Paxton Wines on the weekends and popping up all over Adelaide at events!

NEW DOUGHBALLS LOCATION COMING SOON!

There will also be ANOTHER DoughBalls location opening soon as part of the Fort Largs redevelopment. DoughBalls will be part of the new The Fort Eatery and Produce Market where the old Police Barracks have been empty since 2012.

The menu will be a smaller version of their well known restaurant menus, with delicious Wood-Fired Pizzas with some classic flavours like The Margherita & Pepperoni, but they have a fantastic chef who will be bringing some exclusive seasonal specials that will change frequently. They will also be offering our delicious Antipastos, DoughBalls Desserts and bringing an amazing children’s menu.

We can’t wait to see DoughBalls plus a bunch of other local brands breathe new life into this historic location. Stay tuned for more details including an opening date soon!

I honestly can’t remember a time when I have been more impressed with a kids menu. Passionate about pizza, fresh SA produce and delivering a quality value offering and experience to families, we couldn’t rave more about our meals with the kids at Doughballs, Doughballs serves lunch, dinner and takeaway! You can even just stop in for coffee and wait for it, they do *cocktails* too!

Read on to find out about their fantastic kids menu, which is available at Glenelg and Rundle Place. There’s a focus on healthy alternatives and providing some great options for the older children, as well as introducing some fantastic fresh options. Keep reading to find out more!

Firstly, what is a DoughBall anyway? Well, it’s a little warm ball of heaven to be honest. Served up plain with butters and pesto, or dressed with savoury or sweet toppings. Importantly kids will LOVE them.

If you are dining at Glenelg, you’ll find Doughballs set smack bang in the heart of the square. In winter stay toasty warm upstairs on the balcony, which is heated and enclosed. This is also a prime position in summer once the blinds are opened, along with the outdoor seating. The views set the perfect backdrop, although I must admit the kids were torn and drawn to the bright and colourful ‘beach hut style’ booths in restaurant. Doughballs also has downstairs alfresco seating, (complete with heater and blankets, or umbrellas for the sunnier months) a great option if you have strollers or kids that like some time on their feet when you are out.

The newest DoughBalls venue is in the city in Rundle Place – it’s the perfect spot to dine before or after some shopping, seeing a show or any other activity in the CBD. Kid friendly dining can be hard to come by in the city, so we are thrilled this restaurant has opened. It has the same killer food, kids and drinks menu as the Glenelg restaurant.

Like many parents, owners Catriona and Lincoln felt they could rarely find a meal out that properly catered for the family market and let me tell you, they certainly have nailed a casual dining experience that has some amazing offerings for kids all at a really affordable price. For example; their kids three-course deal is just $14.90 which includes a pop top drink, a starter, main & dessert. The menu choices are great, including a Chicken & Sweetcorn Pizza, Strawberry Jelly Pot and a Fresh Fruit Salad option, plus of course, the old favourites of Unicorn DoughBalls and several different kinds of pizza, including their delicious Ham & Pineapple Pizza.

They now also offer children’s items a la carte for those that don’t want to eat the full 3 courses AND they have added some more delicious healthy items.

Beyond the awesome kids menu (lunch and dinner) we enjoyed fabulous pizzas for the adults and must have eaten our weight in ALL of the doughballs. My favourite was the signature dessert with vanilla, salted caramel and nutella, but I also loved the warm doughballs with a pesto dipping bowl starter. See, we really did eat ALL the balls.

The dessert menu is extensive and lavish and there is a notable quality beer and wine offering too. Be sure to give one of their famous cocktails a try!

You can visit for lunch or dinner, seven days a week (book here), and they have an extensive cocktail menu for just $15 – $16. Of course, you can also do takeaway too and we are loving the quirky messages they write inside the pizza boxes!

Order on a Wednesday for their $10 Pizza and Snacks Menu plus a Cocktail of the Week!

For something completely different you can even hire the venue for a private function. Talk about a sweet location.

Speaking of locations, if you are visiting McLaren Vale on the weekend, you’re going to want to visit Doughballs at Paxton Wines. Check out their socials or websites for details of opening times or when there will be live music.

Grab a crew and book this in, you won’t be disappointed. View the current menu here.

  • Find it at: Mosley Square Glenelg The Glenelg Foreshore Playground is SO good and we have absolutely loved visiting (along with most of Adelaide!) over the past few years since it opened. With the recent seasonal addition of the Giant Wheel, from about October to April, it makes for a brilliant day out! It's a great mixture of beach surrounds, fun for young and old kids, and the move towards 'nature play' areas. Highlights include: water play area into the sand, huge metal slide, in-ground mini trampolines, climbing frames, water fountains, grassed areas and nearby cafes!Pro Tip - bring a change of clothes for when the kids inevitably get wet! One of our favourite central features of the Glenelg Foreshore Playground is the mega metal slide you can see below. At about 4m wide, this slide can fit the whole family. There is a rather steep, fake grass ramp up to the top of the slide which I didn't love at first, but it is possibly a good idea as it might keep kids under 2 from making their way up there, or at least it slows them down. As it turns out, once you're up there you can see…

  • The Mix 102.3 Giant Wheel powered by Lumo Energy is BACK at Glenelg and sporting some seriously cool stickers on the seats! (Spoiler alert: They are OURS!) How awesome is it to see the MIX 102.3 GIANT WHEEL powered by LUMO ENERGY return to Glenelg for the summer? Skyline Attractions is thrilled to be coming back to Glenelg for the fifth year running. From Friday 27th October 2023 to the 12th May 2024  you can take a ride 35 metres in the air on the Giant Wheel overlooking Moseley Square. We LOVE it so much every year that we have jumped on board again as an official digital media sponsor! The SkyLine Attractions Observation Wheel (the real name for the Mix 102.3 Giant Wheel) is the tallest travelling, portable observation wheel in Australia, at 35 metres high, with 24 gondolas that seat up to 144 people at capacity. Up to 6 people can fit in each gondola (although 6 large adults will be a very tight fit!) and it makes a super fun family outing, or summer highlight with friends. Imagine your self kicking back and taking in spectacular views of the Adelaide coastline. While the photos and whole experience…

  • Fancy your next family friendly meal with a side of gangsta rap? We certainly don’t mind a cheeky burger or two, so when we heard the news that Milky Lane was coming to Adelaide our ears pricked up immediately and like many we waited eagerly for the doors to open. If you’ve been living under a rock and for some unknown reason are unfamiliar with Milky Lane (like seriously, where have you been?) then here’s all you need to know. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Rundle Street, Milky Lane is not just a burger joint; it's a celebration of hip hop and R&B culture serving stacked-to-the-max, grandiose burgers, and a dash of delicious over-the-top food. When you walk in the door, a two-level open space awaits with what can only be described as a star-studded wall adorned with murals of hip-hop royalty including Jay Z, 50 Cent, Biggie Smalls, Rihanna, and Kanye West. The ambiance is borderline edgy, with an aesthetic that's actually as cool as the carefully curated playlists, regular DJs, and live music that help to elevate the experience and really shape the Milky Lane brand identity.  Kids are well catered for with a colouring-in sheet and…
