The Largs Bay foreshore playspace is a very popular site with local and visiting families but with the existing play equipment reaching the end of it’s useful asset life, an exciting new playspace will be ice cream themed….yes you read that right!
The uniquely designed space will hopefully be finished by June 2024 and we love when councils and designers think outside the box to create imaginative play areas for the kids.
With toilets, shelter, BBQ plus the existing basketball and other facilities, this is going to be a brilliant beach side spot.
Construction of the new playspace will begin in early 2024 with the northern half of playground being closed to public use from the 12 February and the full playground closing from the 21 February to the end of June 2024.

Green Monkeys is a volunteer run Community Play Café where, for a gold coin donation, you can bring your pre-school age kids along to play on their awesome 2 storey, indoor, netted playground. Open Mondays and Thursdays during the school term from 9:30am - 11:30am, the Green Monkeys program operates similarly to a playgroup. They love to support parents in our community by making a safe place to hang out and drink some delicious coffee while your kids play. Designed to suit children under the age of 6, the playground features two slides, a tunnel, a helicopter cockpit, spinners, punching bags, a swing and more. A toddler play mat and toys are also available for younger kids. Parents do need to bring socks for their children to utilise the play equipment, however they have some available for purchase if needed. Barista made coffee and light snacks are also available for purchase in the cafe at very reasonable prices. Families! Here is some great indoor play news that has become 'Facebook Official' - the rise (again) of Flip Out in South Australia, and nope, not just one venue. Here's what we know.... Flip Out Munno Para closed doors in mid 2022 and we strongly felt it wouldn't be the last we would see of them here. Flipping good news folks, it looks like we will see multiple venues open across SA THIS YEAR, and if things go to plan as soon as next month in regional SA. So where and when can we expect to see new doors opening? Mount Gambier get ready for Mid 2023, according to the Flip Out website. Elizabeth get ready for Late 2023, according to the Flip Out Website. 'South' store location rumoured to be announcing very soon! What is Flip Out you ask? It's a pretty fantastic entertainment hub comprising trampolines, foam pits, ninja courses, parkour and more. Think parties, school holiday hangs, active weekends and skills development. It's indoor fun at its best.
