Find it at: Doxiadis Street, St Agnes

This 2024 built playground is set in the picturesque Doxiadis Reserve, and is aimed at the under 5s predominantly.

With the equipment design blending in nicely with the surrounding bushland, this is a great suburban pit stop and very well put together. No toilets or BBQs however, but the Kokoda Trail commerative walking trail is a great opportunity to take the kids for a stroll and teach them about a pivotal part of Australian history.

New block footpath, with linkages, was recently installed along 4.7 kilometres of Smith Creek from the eastern side of Main North Road to Yorktown Road, significantly extending the trail and connecting it to nearby neighbourhoods and, more importantly, playgrounds. The path, known as the Smith Creek Trail, also incorporates the Elephant Walk at Smithfield and connects to the Stuart O’Grady Bikeway (adjacent the Northern Expressway) via Curtis Road. City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the improved trail is great for families looking to be active and healthy. “We know how much our residents value this extension by the large numbers of families riding their bikes, walking their dogs or just enjoying the linear-park environment that is right on their doorstep,” Mayor Docherty said. For Emma Wallace and her kids, the newly installed pavement has made daily family walks much easier. Emma, of Craigmore, always enjoyed having the natural beauty of Smith Creek on her doorstep and now she and her family are enjoying the benefits of the upgraded trail. “I absolutely love it, it’s so…

  • Looking for a quiet bike ride or easy little walk with the kids that also offers some adventure? (Think rope tree swings and flowing water - what could possibly go wrong). Last week we threw the bikes on the back of the car after school and set off to Coromandel Valley to check out a newly opened section of Sturt River Linear Park Trail that now connects the trail from the Institute Building on Main Road to Frank Smith Park at Coromandel Valley. The trail is a joint initiative between City of Onkaparinga, City of Mitcham and the SA Government - who put a combined 3.5 million bucks behind the path extension/joining project. Previously you could not continue on her and the path came to an end. We believe eventually the Sturt River Linear Park Trail will span the Patawalonga Basin at Glenelg North to Frank Smith Park – connecting the hills to the coast. Bring that on. The path is flat, wide and suitable for bikes, dogs on leads and prams a like. Perfect for beginner bike riders, Nannas who are unstable on their feet and curious kids who like to explore water ways, climbing trees, nature and well,…
