Find it at: Located on the corner of East Terrace and Wood Street, the Edwardstown Oval Playground is located in the South West corner of the oval complex.
If your kids love nature play they’ll LOVE the Edwardstown Oval Soldiers Memorial Playground with something for kids of all ages! This wonderful, fully fenced new playground has a water play pump/feature, large sandpit with digger and swings including an enclosed baby swing & lie down nest swing for fun with multiple kids!
There is a large covered bench seating area with electric BBQ, and other seats around the large playground area too. The covered seating is right next to the water and sand play area to keep a close eye on your kids getting saturated! If you are an active family or have older kids, you’ll love bringing them to the Edwardstown Oval Playground for a hit of tennis or basketball on the multi-use courts situated right next to the playground – the adults or older kids can have a hit out while the younger kids play right behind you! From there you can also keep a close eye on the gate out to the road (East Terrace) as, while there are gates, they aren’t child proof. Head around the side of the tennis courts and you’ll find the Edwardstown Oval Playground extends out further with a lovely nature play setting – perfect for toddlers. Including a few climbing frames, spring rocker horse, balance beams, inbuilt soft landing little kids slide, and our favourite new addition – the 3m long counting snake, this area is a lovely spot. This cool mosaic snake has the numbers 1-9 hidden along it’s body as well as colourful ‘jewels’ for the kids to find. With lots of natural shade, wonderful wooden carved chairs to sit and watch the kids, wooden sculptures and more we are really loving this new local playground.
The toilets are located on the far (Northern) side of the clubrooms so don’t wait until the last second to check if the kids need the loo as it is a few minute walk with a little one. If you have older kids (or mum and dad love to ride), then consider bringing the bikes and going for a pedal around the velodrome – the curved bike track that runs the entire way around the Edwardstown Oval. There is also a huge blackboard area so be sure to bring along some chalk to bring out the family’s little artists! We love that families with kids of a wide age variety will find something for them all here – with the courts, water and sand play, nature areas, velodrome, ‘traditional’ swings and slides and more. Throw in the free electric BBQ, drink fountain and that it’s fully fenced (with just 2 gates to keep an eye on) – we think you’ll love it here too!

Find it at: Victor Harbor, right near the jetty on the Esplanade The Soldiers Memorial Playground at Victor Harbor is located just around to the right of the jetty. It's a smaller playground but has lots of great equipment for the kids to play on, and it's just been updated. This is an ideal playground for toddlers. Some of the features are: fenced along the side closest to the road close to toilet facilities close to the beach pulleys, climbing, tunnels and swings grassed area alongside with bbq's and seating close to the main cafe area

Find it at: Trimmy Terrace, Unley The City of Unley consulted with the "playground experts" to help them upgrade the Unley Oval playground. During community consultation with local residents, the City of Unley specifically sought suggestions from children in the area about what they would like to see incorporated into the improved playground, atop the northern mound at Unley Oval, known as the ‘Hilltop Playground’. 93 children from local schools and kindergartens offered their suggestions with most popular ideas including an aeroplane, haunted house, castle, pirate ship, nature play and incorporating animal designs such as elephants, spiders, cats and unicorns. (YES! playgrounds DEFINITELY need more unicorns we say!) The kids love the new multi-story structure with giant 3m tube slide, a toddler slide, climbing wall and a bird's eye view across the whole oval. There is also a great 'balanced swing/see-saw' that both kids and adults can enjoy at the same time.

Find it at: Brighton Road, Brighton (Highet Avenue is a side street nearby) Fully Fenced Playground! That is usually music to the the ears of a lot of people, because knowing your little tacker can run around and not actually escape is just bliss. Thankfully the newly developed Gladys Mathwin playground at the Brighton Oval sports complex is fully fenced and with a load of other must haves for parents (except toilets which weren't readily visible but would be in the sports complex buildings nearby) including lots of free parking, drinking fountain, seating, picnic tables, shade and a fully sheltered BBQ. What a great spot! The playground is fantastic and has lots for kids of most ages, with a big tube slide, lots of climbing equipment and swings and some beautiful brightly coloured smaller equipment for the under 5 crowd. We loved the bright colours, lots of shade, easy access to the oval for a kick of the footy and proximity to all the coffee spots of Jetty Road at Brighton. They have used bark as the major ground material so it may cause an accessibility issue at times but paths and soft surfaces have been used amongst the bark…
