Find it at: Corner Cedar Avenue and Croydon Avenue, West Croydon
Renamed after local legend Eileen Harris, and with an upgrade in 2024 this shaded playground is fabulous for the under 10s.
Spacious and with plenty of quality equipment for the kids to climb and challenge themselves on, it also features shade sails and natural shade from surrounding trees.
No toilets or BBQs at this one, but definitely a quality suburban playground.

Find it at: Ashley Street Torrensville Ashley Street Playground is a medium sized playground more suited to locals to the area. I probably wouldn't drive too far to specifically go to this park, but if you live in the Western suburbs it's a nice option for a playdate for something different. The playground area is fully fenced which is great, and there are also enough bench seats to go around. It's really annoying when a playground only has one bench seat for all the Mums and Dads to squish on :) The equipment includes a spiral slide, monkey bars, climbing wall and ropes, swings and a liberty swing. What we liked about this playground Really nicely shaded with a big shade sail stretching over the whole thing Fully fenced! Yay no run aways Clean and tidy BBQ was right next door and nice and clean Tennis courts right next to it Liberty Swing Clean and tidy What we thought could be better The toilets were a bit dim. Not very grassy, if you want to watch the kids playing you have to sit on one of the bench seats or on the rubber floor Street parking is available, but there's…

Find it at: Heron Way, Hallett Cove This is a great playground with amazing views over the ocean. The reserve includes a 5-way swing, tunnel slide, water and sand play, nature play, fitness equipment, shade sales, toilet, seating, shelter and BBQ facilities. The playground is unfenced, and there is a drop down to the rocky beach that parents with fast moving smaller children will need to be mindful of. There is parking close to the playground, and plenty of other awesome features in this area. For example, the Marino-Hallet Cove Coastal Trail, which goes all the way to Marino, before joining the path to Kingston Park, Brighton and further along The Esplanade. There is also the Hallett Cove Conservation Park right next door to explore and enjoy. The tunnel slide that has a slight curve to it. My kids wanted to climb up it before attempting to go down as it's a little steep. But once they went down the first time, they loved it! Be aware that if you are having a private conversation at the top of the tunnel slide then the people at the bottom will be able to hear it VERY clearly. My kids loved using…

Find it at: Adelaide Zoo, Frome Road, Adelaide Nature's Playground is a fantastic play space for kids of all ages, although the climbing equipment best suits kids 4 years and up (smaller kids have things to do and play with too, but be prepared to spend some time lifting them on, off and over things!) Please note, you do have to have an entry ticket or Zoo membership to access this playground. Located just inside the Zoo entrance and right next to the new Variety Children's Zoo the playground is one of the new era of kids play areas, with less plastic "too safe to be fun" equipment and more "let's get back to nature and let kids have fun"! To find it, turn left at the entrance gates and it is just meters past the Wisteria Cafe - well placed for mum and dad's coffee while the kids play! To summarise all the details, I'll simply say here first, that the new Adelaide Zoo playground is really awesome! It features a canopy aerial climbing and viewing platform, from which there are multiple slides, climbing rope ladders and other features. There is a great water/sand/creek bed area that is sure…
