Joe’s Connected Garden Open Garden 2024

Come and see a community garden of a different kind, where 5 neighbours have come together to connect their backyards and grow over 1000 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and more. This is urban permaculture and community gardening gone crazy! As well as all the amazing plants to see, there are also chickens, ducks and quails for all the animal lovers out there.
Our annual open garden weekend has a full schedule of speakers, workshops, tours, stalls and children’s activities, so there’s plenty to see and do.
Plant sales are available each day, providing a variety of fruit trees and an amazing range of interesting herbs & vegetables.

This years talks and activities include:
– Gardening for biodiversity
– Native bees
– Therapeutic gardening
– Soil moisture testing
– Backyard irrigation
– Home pest management
– Q & A panel
– Children’s activity: paint a pot with a plant for a pollinator
– DIY wicking beds
– Screen printing ‘pollinators of SA’ (bring your own shirt or tea towel)
and more!

Entry fees are $10 for adults, $8 concession and free for children. All activities throughout the day are free with entry.
You can come on both days for this price – different talks to see each day.
