“Nice buns, hun!” is something you don’t normally say in the city, at least, not with the kids. Unless of course, you’re making a beeline for Hello Harry, then, you can be forgiven! This modern, laid-back burger joint on the corner of King William and Hindley streets is the real deal, serving up great food that packs a punch in terms of quality and taste.

We get it – a burger is a staple on many a menu and let’s be honest unless it’s an over-the-top indulgent masterpiece or a classic done right, we probably won’t bat an eyelid. But (avoiding boring, fast food chains like McDonald’s), you have to admit, burgers are the ultimate family meal if not for one reason, they’re perfect for picky eaters. You can take them apart and reassemble them using only the best bits and that for us, is a win-win!

Luckily, Hello Harry’s burgers are mouth-wateringly delicious and a million light-years away from boring. In fact, the menu is *that* good even the ultimate burger connoisseurs will be impressed. Twenty-two varieties of burgers are on the menu including the popular “Dirty Harry” with double grass-fed beef patties, double cheese, grilled chicken, crispy bacon, pickles, American mustard, house tomato jam and mayo. If you’re a friend to the animals, they’ve got you covered with both vegetarian and plant-based, meat free versions that taste like the real thing. Watching your waistline? Try a salad!

When you stop by, make sure you try the fries – they are to die for! Whatever that secret seasoning is, I’ll take 10 jars. Be warned though, the seasoning is a little spicy so be sure to ask if you’d like to leave it off, especially for the little ones. Worth a mention also, are the Mozzarella Sticks, let yourself indulge a bit because these are yum!

The kids’ burgers are tasty and not too big for little hands to manage. Choose from a “Jnr Beef Burger”, “Jnr Chicken Burger” or “Harry’s Battered Nuggets”. All meals include fries and a Pop Top in the cost, meaning the kids under 12 are more than satisfied (until they ask for dessert that is!). Our kids opted for Nutella Milkshakes and although they weren’t as fancy as some of the ones we’ve seen, they were packed full of chocolatey goodness. Now, it would have been rude of us to leave without sampling “Harry’s Famous Dessert Bombs”; a flash fried bun, rolled in cinnamon, filled with ice-cream and your choice of Strawberry, Nutella or Salted Caramel. If you really want to spoil the kids, or yourself (no judgement here) – order one of these bad boys. After all, there’s always room for dessert!

There’s lots to love about Hello Harry and it doesn’t stop at the food. There’s some great special offers on throughout the week and we’ll start with our favourite… On Sunday’s kids under 12 eat FREE with every adult meal purchased, potentially saving families more than just a few bucks. There’s also 50 cent wings on Wednesdays, live music and happy hour from 5 pm – 8 pm on Friday evenings and special lunch combos at a bargain price throughout the day. The venue is fully licensed, which makes our adult hearts happy because ordering a burger and not having a beer is like putting on your gum boots when there’s no puddles; you’re seriously missing something. They have their own craft beer on tap along with a cider, plus a fully stocked fridge. The way I see it, the one’s paying for it, ought to be able to enjoy it too, right?

Super affordable with a really chill vibe in the heart of the city, this burger joint does NOT disappoint. Now, I’m suddenly feeling really peckish…
