Finding family-friendly accommodation that actually caters for everyone isn’t always easy, but Adelaide’s newest hotel, Hotel Panorama, absolutely nailed it. Whether you’re planning a city staycation, heading to Adelaide for a sporting carnival, visiting family, attending an event or making the trip in from regional South Australia, this gorgeous new hotel is a fantastic place to base yourself. We would even like to return for a fun ‘Mums night out’.

From the moment we checked in with the kids, it felt like the little details had been thought through. We stayed in one of the family rooms, complete with a super comfy queen bed for the adults and king single bunk beds that our kids instantly claimed as their own. The bed was honestly one of the comfiest we’ve slept in, and after a big day exploring (or in our case, shopping up a storm at nearby Westfield Marion), everyone was more than happy to climb in for an early night. The kids were delighted to find colouring packs waiting in the room, while the gorgeous Appelles kids toiletries were a lovely touch that made them feel just as special as the grown-ups.

Then there’s the food… and if you know Adelaide, you’ll know the Hurley Group rarely misses when it comes to great hospitality. Whether you’re fuelling up with breakfast before a busy day, grabbing a casual bite after exploring the city or settling in for a relaxed family dinner, there’s something for everyone. Parents can even sneak away for sunset drinks at Wonderland in the stunning rooftop bar (18+), while the sports bar and restaurant also make it easy to enjoy quality food without having to head back out once you’ve checked in.

We also loved how convenient the location is. You’re only a short drive from the Adelaide CBD, Glenelg Beach, Westfield Marion, Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide Oval and many of Adelaide’s biggest attractions, yet the hotel still feels relaxed and removed from the hustle and bustle. Add in free parking, a modern gym, stylish interiors and genuinely welcoming service, and it’s easy to see why Hotel Panorama is set to become a favourite with families.

If you’re looking for accommodation that’s super modern, affordable, comfortable and makes travelling with kids just that little bit easier, Hotel Panorama is well worth adding to your list.

  • I have to admit… when I first heard they were building an airport hotel in Adelaide, I was a bit skeptical. Being so close to the city, did we really need to stay at the airport? Add two kids and an early flight… and I’ve completely changed my mind! We recently spent the night at Atura Hotel Adelaide Airport before an early morning flight, and the minute we walked through the door I knew it was a BRILLIANT idea. My six-year-old ran straight to the window to watch a Qantas plane land right in front of u, so exciting! Could we hear it? No.Could we see it? YES!What an exciting place to stay… but did I manage to get them to sleep before the last plane landed? Read on to find out… The hotel Atura has a cool, industrial vibe. Polished concrete, splashes of bright yellow, and stylish touches throughout. The ground floor is where you’ll find reception, the bar, the restaurant, a lounge area, and plenty of comfy spots to relax with a drink or snack. If you’re staying in a city view or runway room, head straight up to your room, you’ll want to be in prime plane-spotting…

  • Looking for family-friendly accommodation in McLaren Vale? Less than an hour from Adelaide, Vale 194 is a gated complex of five luxury holiday homes that tick all the boxes - stylish, spacious, and perfect for families or groups. Tucked just behind McLaren Vale’s Main Street, these beautifully designed villas feel private and peaceful, but you're still right in the heart of it all. Cafés, wineries, playgrounds and walking trails are just a short stroll away. Each villa has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so there’s plenty of space for a girls weekend away, a family stay or maybe even extend the invite to the grandparents to join (because babysitters are pretty handy when staying in a wine region, just saying). The design is modern but welcoming, with polished concrete downstairs and warm timber floors upstairs. Yep, stairs, so if you have toddlers this one probably isn't super geared up for the really little kids if we are honest. Our three kids, aged 6, 7 and 10 years spread out and made themselves right at home within five minutes of arriving. We have to mention the beds because, honestly they were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. The…

  • We’ve stayed with Sanbis Retreats before, so we knew it would be special, but I had never heard of the South Shores estate in Normanville and honestly, it blew me away. It’s a private, gated coastal community on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and the easiest way to describe it is like a holiday park but elevated in every way. Everything is beautifully designed, calm, and spacious, with all the little touches that make holidaying with kids feel easy instead of stressful. Villa 19 is in the absolute dream spot. It’s right next to a huge lagoon-style pool, complete with a shallow end for the little ones, and just across from a massive grassy expanse where kids can run, ride scooters, play basketball, swing from trees, and generally disappear for hours. There are picnic tables scattered around, so you can grab a drink or snack and actually sit down while they play, and if that’s not enough, a private boardwalk leads straight to the beach. Honestly, it’s one of those layouts where the kids feel free to roam, but you still have that calm, safe feeling as a parent. The villa itself looks out over the lake, which is stunning in the…
