Construction of the reserve is now underway! There will be some temporary fencing in place and excavation work happening in the reserve. The existing skate park and play equipment are still available for use.

The construction is due to be completed by the end of August 2024, subject to weather.

With the support of Amanda Rishworth Member for Kingston, Karingal Reserve gained federal government funding of $500,000 towards the upgrade of the reserve.

The concept plan includes:

  • New playground equipment: flying fox, rope climbing tower, a variety of ninja equipment, nature play
  • Fitness station
  • New picnic shelter, table and bench seats
  • Solar lights
  • New drinking fountains

Additionally, the state government, with the backing of Chris Picton, Member for Kaurna, will contribute $350,000 towards the construction of a new clubroom within the reserve for the Seaford Netball Club.

  • First thing you notice when you pull up to this reserve is the brightly coloured modern play equipment along with the huge grassed area. Whilst the play equipment isn’t huge it has been well thought out to cater for a few different ages. The toddlers and smaller children can enjoy the swings which include a baby swing, slippery dip, bouncy ladybird and small climbing wall. The bigger kids can use the giant climbing spider web that sits a little away from the the play equipment or even enjoy a game of noughts and crosses which can be found on the play equipment. Once everyone has had enough of the equipment there is plenty of grassed area to run around on, kick balls or just enjoy a family picnic . There is also a tennis court as part of the Golflands reserve. Whilst the area near the play equipment has a fence the entire reserve isn’t totally fenced off. Unfortunately there is no shade over the play equipment but several trees you could utilise to sit under for shade if you stopped for a picnic or BBQ .   In need of a coffee .. closest would be Mc Café on…

  • This is a newly renovated (July 2018) park for all ages. 4 swings (2 little kids and 2 older kids), balancing, climbing nets and climbing wall, monkey bars, firemans pole and flying fox. There's also exercise equipment for big kids and adults. Nature play elements including hard and loose surface paths and a water play area including a water gate, water pumps, channel, sand sieve and wooden bridge that will be great fun in summer! There's also lots of shade including 2 shade sails which we love as well as BBQs and undercover picnic area, basketball area and netball goal too. A great park for a birthday party! This is an off-leash park where dogs can exercise off-leash, except within 5 metres of a playground, at a wetland or when organised sport is being played. Note: There are no toilets at this park but it's just a short walk (10 mins or so) to Hendrie Street Reserve [wpgmza id="138" cat="1" marker="480" zoom="16"]

  • Find it at: Esplanade, Port Noarlunga How about this stunning playground location! Located at the top of the Esplanade cliff between Port Noarlunga and Christies Beach (Right next door to the Port Noarlunga RSL - Free 8 ball and video games by the way), this great little playground is a fantastic way to let the kids burn off some beach energy while you enjoy the breathtaking views. With lots of space, some modern equipment to climb on with enough to keep the little kids and bigger kids entertained (oh and some fitness equipment if you get the urge...must say I never have!), it is a fave with the locals this one. Lots of parking both on the street and in car parks, with toilets available at the RSL too. There is a BBQ and shelter and enough grassed area to bring a footy for a kick (to be honest this is kite country. Bring one!)
