Dear coffee Mums (and Dads) and family’s looking for somewhere exceptional to park up a while and eat / meet. We have found the perfect kids grazing platters at Machinetta Coffee House! Feeling pretty proud of our selves actually. This little gem is set back in an unassuming small group of shops on Grange Rd at Henley Beach. One of those places if we don’t tell you about – you might never know such an on trend, high quality little place existed.
Macchinetta opened earlier in 2020 and serves up some absolutely beautiful options for all day breakfast, brunch or lunch, seven days a week. This great food is accompanied by BRILLIANT coffee (or wine if you prefer) and enthusiastic smiles all around. Owners Teresa and Joe sure know how to impress adults and go to huge efforts for our little side kicks too. How good is a coffee catch up or a meal out when there is more than ‘nuggs on offer?
The atmosphere is bright and breezy, plant filled and offers plenty of room for prams and highchairs. A perfect coffee stop if you are headed for a walk at the beach, or coffee date catch up with your friends and favourite little people.
The menu is more extensive than we expected and is all made fresh to order. The hardest part was choosing what to have and we made a stella choice with the smashed avo poached eggs (on halloumi with fancy seed biscuit, shaved parmesan and char-grilled ciabatta) and more to the point we are in.actual.love with their Fried Gnocchi Caprese Salad. You can find the full menu’s on their Facebook Page here
The featured kids grazing platter will set you back just under ten dollars and the fruit selection changes a little daily / seasonally. You will always get the choice of cold milk or babyccino plus juice, and the platter will always have ham, cheese, pretzels, marshmallow and most importantly fairy bread! (Yes, adults can order this too ha!) How cute is it? All kids love to graze.
There is an extensive range of coffees available (including all of the trendy ones, what is a dirty chai any way?) tea’s and iced teas on tap. You can also be sure that your alternative milks are on offer! All of these offerings pair way too well with the sweet treats in the glass display cabinet, in our sweet toothed opinion.
Parking was super easy, tables were well spaced out and every thing about this little place screams ‘book in a visit with your besties or a lazy family weekend breakfast ASAP’. Better yet drop the kids at school and take your selves off for an adult catch up!
Last thing to mention, it felt like there was a lovely focus on sustainability and the use of local suppliers and that always makes us smile. The take away coffee cups are among the prettiest we have ever seen, and are what got us talking to the owners of this wonderful venue on our intial visit.
