Thanks for choosing Kids In Adelaide as a marketing partner – we are so thrilled to be working with you to help promote your business or event to the families of Adelaide. We want to do everything we can to help you make sure your campaign with Kids In Adelaide reaches as many people as possible and converts into some great sales for you.

Below are our top tips for working with us here at Kids In Adelaide and what you can do to help ensure your campaign is a success.

PROVIDE GREAT PHOTOS!

Be sure to send us photos for your web listing, social media posts and eDM features that show our followers what you are offering at a quick glance and makes them want to know more! Provide photos that are scroll stopping and will make people want to know more.

Make sure:

  • The images are clear and not blurry
  • They are high resolution.
  • The photos show kids or families having fun and enjoying themselves
  • The images show a variety of activities/ items/ products – don’t send images that are too similar to each other
  • You send enough photos – for social media posts we recommend four images but it’s great if you can provide a selection for us to choose from. We know which ones will work best.

We recommend you engage a professional photographer or if that’s not in your budget, take some images yourself or ask a friend to take some – it’s a good idea to setup a separate photoshoot outside of regular programming to take images with kids or families that can take instructions and will smile/ get involved! (Make sure you have permission from parents to use images of their kids.)

HOT TIP: Don’t put text or logos on photos that are going to be used for your social media posts! It makes it harder to crop the photos to sit in a nice configuration plus if they look too much like an “advertisement”, the post will be adversely affected by the algorithm. Instead, make sure all the information you want to convey is in your caption or wherever the link in the post will take people.

Below are some examples of great photos:

WRITE YOUR CONTENT IN THE THIRD PERSON

Remember that when we share your content, our followers are reading it as being from ‘Kids In Adelaide’ – not your business! So instead of saying “ours/ we/ us” make sure you say “theirs/ they/ them.”

For example:

  • DON’T WRITE: “Our sports club is so welcoming, we’d love you to join our family”
  • INSTEAD WRITE: “Their sports club is so welcoming, they’d love you to join their family”
  • DON’T WRITE: “We have a great offer, our staff are so excited, come and visit us soon”
  • INSTEAD WRITE: “They have a great offer, their staff are so excited, go and visit them soon”

SEND US YOUR CONTENT ON TIME

If you have certain days/ weeks/ months to align with certain campaigns or promotions that you want your content to appear on our website or social media, by all means please let us know and we’ll try our best to accommodate this – however we do ask that you give us at least one month’s notice.

We require all content to be sent to us at least one week in advance of the date that it will be posted. Our schedules do get extremely booked up in advance, especially in peak periods such as school holidays, long weekends, back to school, etc. Unfortunately, if you have not booked your spot or sent you content in time, we cannot guarantee you a space.

HOT TIP: Consider how much lead time you want to give people to book tickets to your event, enrol in your classes or plan their day out and work with us to plan your content around this timeline.

SEND US ALL THE CONTENT WE ASK FOR

While we’re on the topic – make sure you send us everything we ask you for including images, copy and links. If you don’t send us everything, it means will need to follow up with you which could delay your campaign.

DON’T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN OUR BASKET

This one might seem strange! As much as we would love all businesses to work with us exclusively, we recommend a good mix of marketing activities if your budget allows. We will do as much as we can to ensure your campaign with Kids In Adelaide gets seen by as many people as possible, however it’s often a good idea to consider other marketing opportunities as well, such as radio, posters, partnering with nearby businesses, councils etc to help spread the word. Don’t forget to promote through your own website and social media as much as possible too!

HOT TIP: While Kids In Adelaide have a large follower base, don’t assume your post will ‘go viral’ – unfortunately we are at the mercy of the algorithms too! See the next tip for ways to help your post reach though.

ENGAGE WITH YOUR KIDS IN ADELAIDE CONTENT

When your posts and features go up, make sure you shout it from the rooftops! The more engagement that there is on a social post, the more likely the algorithm is to put it in front of even more people which equals more potential business and followers for you!

Here are some ways you can engage with your content on Kids In Adelaide:

  • Reshare Facebook posts
  • Share Instagram posts to your Stories
  • Comment on your Facebook posts, especially replying to our followers that have commented  – this shows them that you are engaged and ready to welcome them!
  • Like the posts
  • Tag your staff, neighboring businesses, your Mum and your best mate
  • Share your website feature in your e-news, via your IG stories or on Facebook (link to it!)

HOT TIP: Don’t forget that as a paid advertiser you are welcome to post in our closed Kids In Adelaide Facebook group or self list free/ community events to our Event Calendar.

KEEP US UPDATED

Are you opening a new venue? Got a great new offer? Upgrading your facilities or equipment? Awesome! Please be sure to let us know – we can’t help you promote it if we don’t know about it.

HOT TIP: If you engage a PR company or keep your own media list, make sure we are on it! You can add web@kidsinadelaide.com.au as a central email contact.

USE UTM LINKS

Huh? What are UTM links? UTM links are setup yourself so you can track how many clicks to your website or booking page you get from your Kids In Adelaide campaign. It means you can track your ROI easier. Read more about UTM links here, or if you have a bit.ly account, you can send us bit.ly links too which you can track from your account.

KEEP YOUR OWN WEBSITE AND SOCIAL PAGES UP TO DATE

Most of our clients report a huge increase in visits to their website and followers on their social media accounts after a Kids In Adelaide post or campaign. Make sure your own website is up to date with information like pricing, opening hours, special offers etc and be sure to have your social platforms up to date, posting regularly and looking fresh. The last thing you want is to send people to a Facebook page that hasn’t had any posts since 2018 – not a good look!

INVITE US ALONG!

We love nothing more than getting out and about with our families to experience the best events, classes, venues, cafes and activities around Adelaide. Please do invite us along and if we have a family from our team who are keen and available, we will come along. The more we know about your business, the easier it is for us to promote you! You might even find yourself getting a bit of bonus content.

HOT TIP: Run a famil or exclusive session for us and other media to come along to get photos and video so we aren’t interrupting regular programming and so we can promote the event or activity to our followers before it kicks off to encourage them to go along.

We hope these tip help you get the most out of your partnership with Kids In Adelaide – as always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at anytime.
