Here’s a fun and guilt free spot to take the family! Acai Affair has just opened its second Adelaide location, on Level 1 at Burnside Village Shopping Centre! We already loved them on King William Road Hyde Park.
So what is it? Well it’s premium self serve Acai and Frozen Yoghurt Bar! The kids are going to love creating their own bowl and best of all you can indulge completely guilt free here! Ok, so maybe some of the toppings are a bit naughty (but sooo nice). It’s a perfect substitute for Ice Cream and definitely a lot more fun – just wait until you see the self serve toppings buffet though – it’s seriously elevated beyond any other place around, and you bet we have tried them all. You eyes will be popping out of your head!
The acai here is made from 100% frozen acai berries and is the highest quality, packed with antioxidants and offering a beautiful sweet berry, earthy flavour. Top it with your favourites such as granola, toasted coconut, fresh fruit and even a warm drizzle of caramel or peanut butter style sauce. It’s dairy free and vegan too – if that floats your boat.
The self serve cups of frozen yoghurt are the most beautiful flavours – we enjoyed blueberry cheesecake and loaded up the cup with fun toppings and self serve treats. These cups of cool creamy fun are then charged by weight.
If it’s a caffeine hit you are after, the team at Hyde Park can certainly sort you out with a wonderful coffee and the menu at both venues offers some nutrient dense smoothies that are filling, and absolutely delicious.
The star of the show for us on our visit today? Strawberry cups topped with warm chocolate, or even better, warm matcha white chocolate. Get in my belly.
One last thing…… they have house made Kataifi Pistachio Crunch that you can top your bowls with or buy by the jar to take home. Ummmmmm stop it immediately.

Trying to keep young children who are stuck at home entertained is no mean feat. Especially during these stressful times, children are possibly being exposed to world news that may seem scary or confronting to them, as it certainly is for us. Maintaining a sense of calm amidst the chaos will help to keep children at ease, and therefore make all of our lives a little less hectic. Here are 14 art activities for young children and we hope to encourage families to use this time to reconnect, re-engage and enjoy the simple, funny, creative and (possibly) quiet moments they will hopefully generate! Cool Colour Process Art – Frozen Themed An art study in process and texture, I chose a cool colour theme to inspire imaginative play based on a love of Elsa. But, you could easily adapt this to suit something your child is into. For example, if they loved The Incredibles, you could choose warm reds, oranges and yellows instead. Putting some boaundaries around the painting activity creates a sense of ‘challenge’ and increases the likelihood of your child being inspired for a longer period of time!Painting is an important part of self expression and colour exploration, and…

We visited Taste Of Paradise in Hackham on a 40 degree day and there was nothing that could've cooled us down more than their delicious juices, smoothies and Acai Bowls - this is such a hidden gem in the southern suburbs and we'll be regulars now anytime we need something for the kids that feels like a treat but is actually good for them! Taste Of Paradise has all your individual needs covered with offerings for vegans, gluten-free and dairy-free peeps, as well as anyone who just loves good, tasty food! Beth and her team are super welcoming and have over 5 years experience creating mouthwatering food! This all began when Beth opened her food truck doors of Taste Of Paradise SA back in 2019 to South Australians. Living and breathing her dream, they decided to open a funky little bricks and mortar, last year located on the corner of Penneys Hill Road and States Road, Hackham. On the menu you’ll find a range of smoothies, juices on tap, milkshakes, raw treats, nachos (with beef, veggie and vegan options), coffee, tea and of course the Acai Bar. Everything was fresh, delicious and good for the soul! Most people will be…

Beach Road Wines is one of those rare places where grown-ups and kids can both completely relax. Set high above McLaren Vale, the views spill out across the vines, and there’s no rush to leave. We settled under the big shady tree, sharing wood-fired pizzas (and...
Let's talk about Adelaide's best pizza. We really have lifted the pizza benchmark over the past decade and kids *generally* love a slice of the good stuff don't they? It's quick, filling and often one of the more affordable take away options. Let's not forget cold...
