Best Spots for Icecream in Adelaide

Family Friendly Eats

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Is there anything better than an ice cream on a hot Adelaide day? (Or any day really?!) We have collated the best spots in Adelaide & beyond to enjoy a delicious ice cream treat (tough gig, we know!). Whether you’re into classic flavours like vanilla, chocolate or rum & raisin, or like something a bit spesh (Fruchocs ice cream anyone?) we have done the hard work for you & found the best spots to visit. Plus, does anything make your kids behave better than the promise of an ice cream at the end of the day? We didn’t think so. Now for the big question Adelaide ice cream fans: cup or cone?

Here’s our pick of THE BEST icecream in Adelaide.

48 Flavours Adelaide, Trinity Gardens, Paralowie + Hyde Park

We have been long time fans of 48 Flavours, ever since they opened their doors here in Adelaide. And what’s not to love? South Australian owned, made using local produce….technically it’s gelato, but we are not going to let a technicality stop us from trying every single one of the 48 offerings. Find them in Adelaide, Paralowie, Hyde Park & Trinity Gardens. (Try the pineapple sorbet…trust us!).

All the delicious details are here

Copenhagen – Port Noarlunga

Yes, the line may be out the door on a hot night, but with good reason! Copenhagen make all their ice cream in store, so it is super fresh with a HUGE range of flavours. It’s not just ice cream either – they have donuts, coffee plus a range of decadent dessert treats. If you can’t get to Port Noarlunga, they also have stores in Brighton, Henley Beach, Semaphore & Mount Gambier.

Check it out here.

Barossa Valley Chocolate Company

Barossa Valley Chocolate Company is awesome for so many delicious reasons….chocolate, wine, an onsite cafe & of course ICE CREAM! Willunga Gelato

Gelatissimo Glenelg, Adelaide + Norwood

This is another spot where there is often a line out of the door, But at the front of the line, you’ll find us, having trouble deciding between all the flavours. Because there are so many & they are all so so so good. Will it be Green Apple Sorbet? Funfetti Birthday Cake? Biscoff? Or something a little more traditional, like Boysenberry? This is also where you’ll find Fruchoc icecream. No artificial colours or flavours just makes it that bit better too!

For their many locations & more info, head to their website.

Gelato Bello Glynde

Gelato the authentic Italian way since 1996. This place is the BOMB and you must try the lemon, because don’t all Gelato places live or die on their lemon gelato? Keep your eyes out on their IG page for their flavours of the month. Rum Ball over Christmas, Turkish Delight, Bounty…..yum!

And finally, the day we published this article our friends at Doughballs announced on IG that they’re now offering delicious Massimo Gelato at their restaurant in Glenelg. What timing! We haven’t been to try it yet, but if it’s half as delicious as the rest of their menu – we already love it
