There are so many pick your own activities around Adelaide, however no one can deny once you’ve tried a delicious freshly picked strawberry nothing else will ever compare!
Strawberry picking season usually happens between November and April (weather dependant) but best to check each individual patch as they all vary. We have sent the team around Adelaide to test out the strawberry patches of Adelaide and have collated our favourites below.

Here’s where you can pick your own strawberries in South Australia
Beerenberg PYO
Beerenberg located in Hahndorf is a beautiful family day out and is open 7 days during picking season. (Always best to check the website prior though). The Farm Shop located at the patch offers a full array of Beerenberg products you’ll be able to try (as well as some you won’t find anywhere else) as well as a cafe to have a delicious lunch and really make a family day of it. See where they grow their produce and chat with the lovely staff.
Entry Fee: $5pp (12 and under are free)
You then pay for the weight of any strawberries you have picked at the end ($13.50 per kilo)
Harvest the Fleurieu PYO
You will find Harvest The Flerieu a short drive south at the stunning Mount Compass. The patch is open everyday from 9am – 4pm during picking season. Pre booking is normally required but check their socials for walk in availability.
At the farm there is an amazing Market Hall you can browse which is full of local produce, as well as a cafe where you can purchase delicious light meals made from scratch using nothing but local produce. You also can’t go past the coffee!
Age 12 & above = $5 entry
Age 5 – 11 = $3 entry
Age 4 & below = FREE entry

Where to buy farm fresh strawberries
If PYO isn’t your thing but you still want to stock up on delicious farm fresh strawberries for summer, here are a few places you can pick up a punnet or ten direct from the farm gate.
Kuitpo Forest Strawberries
Kuitpo Forest Strawberries is a family run farm located in the Fleurieu region of Kuitpo, South Australia. You can purchase their fresh, high quality prouce and freshly made baked goods every Saturday and Sunday morning at both Willunga and Adelaide Farmers Markets.
Mount Barker Strawberries
Visit Mount Barker Strawberries and enjoy the experience this place has to offer. you can visit the farm to see first hand where their delicious strawberries are planted, grown and harvested.
Visitors here are welcome to the farm shed door where you can purchase super fresh strawberries (of course) as well as their delicious strawberry topping and olive oil. When in season, they also offer honey and seasonal fruit for purchase.
