Located opposite the Wallaroo Town Hall in the centre of town in Irwin Street. This playground was opened in 2015 and includes a large shaded play area for smaller kids with toddler size play equipment, swings diggers etc as well as equipment for older kids including climbing nets and frames, numerous swings and slides, monkey bars, a spinning thing that is apparently called a Supernova? (photo below) two flying foxes and lots more. It’s a big space with lots to do. And it’s lit for night time play!
There’s a large picnic shelter with tables and chairs, bench seats, a drink fountain and public toilets just a short walk away. Shops are not far to walk if you need supplies. Two sides of the park edged by roads are fenced off for safety.
If you’re looking to have a picnic lunch, the local Foodland is walking distance and there’s a huge grassed area to enjoy.
Find it at: Belair National Park, SA Located within Belair National Park and surrounded by 800 hectares of beautiful bush this playground is an oldie, but a goodie! These photos bring back so many memories for us. Can anyone else remember school excursions here in the 80s and eating massive bush biscuits? Sitting in the huge concrete tunnels and then scurrying away trying to hide from your friends. Belair National Park sells itself. An iconic spot in Adelaide with beautiful natural scenery, fantastic facilities scattered throughout to suit whatever occasion you are after. If you haven't visited the adventure playground in a few years, bring your kids and spend the day. They will love the open space, the iconic huge concrete tubes, wooden fort and playground equipment. Adelaide is set to get ourselves an Australian first Aerial adventure playground with a huge 120 sky-high challenges on the structure over 25metres in the air! To be located in the Adelaide Shores precinct (between the Resort & Caravan Park on Military Road) at West Beach, the aerial playground will feature scramble nets, rope bridges, beams, vine swings, zip wires, log steps, aerial surfboards and a luge. Don't be fooled into thinking this awesome new playground is just for the kids! It will be designed for people of all ages to challenge themselves - and for those who just want to watch, there will be a number of viewing area with great views out past the airport and all the way to Glenelg. There will be stringent safety features in place, with participants harnessed and suspended from a line, so that if they fall off anything, they can just climb back up again. To be name the “M.E.G.A. Adventure Park @ Adelaide Shores”, the aerial playground is already well under construction and should be open to the public in October. I'm a Mum of 2 girls and also one 4 legged ratbag of a dog called Rudy. I work from home and family balance out the work/school hours with lots of beach time, walks, bike rides skates, scooters and surfs. We like being outside.
