This Northern suburbs pub has had a face lift, a new fresh look and we’re here to tell you, it’s phenomenal!
Long gone are the days of this place being the dingy local, the Waterloo is a venue you can feel good about bringing the little ones along to. And we don’t just mean nuggets and chips, oh no – they offer so much more!
A central location, as well as good parking, the spruced up interiors, and a brand spanking new area dedicated to the kids, will make every parent and their child happy. The gated playground just outside the spacious main dining room offers the perfect environment to build up a kiddies appetite and the big glass windows means keeping an eye on them is a breeze. There are two indoor kids spaces available, each designed so kids of all ages will have fun and stay entertained for hours. One equipped with iPads for the tech-savvy, and the other furnished with soft play equipment like a play couch, building blocks and toys. Each room also has a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. We suggest requesting a table located close to the children’s area so they can play and you can enjoy yourself.
We love the Kids Funday which happens every Sunday and is basically every parents excuse to have the day/ night off from cooking. With kids entertainment rotating weekly, you can expect FREE face-painting, balloons, petting zoos, bubbles, fairies or perhaps a touch of magic. Our kids had an absolute ball and have asked if we can spend every Sunday arvo at the Waterloo Station Hotel.
When tummies are rumbling and the hangriness is getting out of hand, the menu is a compendium of pub classics and new creations executed to perfection. Although not a huge menu, the small plates range from Sticky Lamb Ribs with pickled cucumber to mouth-watering King Fish Tacos. From the large plates there are family favourites such as Chicken Parmi and the Steak Sanga to a Beef Brisket Pie Floater and Seafood Linguini. On the Kid’s Menu, there are four popular options to choose from and each come with a drink and an ice cream to finish for only $12.
Their all new state-of-the-art beer garden is impressive, featuring a massive screen for sports enthusiasts, live music every Friday and Saturday and Happy Hours specials. It’s here you’ll find locals revelling over a pint and those catching the afternoon sun. It’s definitely worth checking out.
Speaking to another family as we were leaving, they had this to say “The renovations are classy, and the kids area is an absolute life-saver, we have hardly seen them! Our food was great and we will definitely be returning.”
A local pub that is great value for money with loads of options for the kids is essentially the holy grail of dining out for parents who can enjoy a pint and a burger in peace, while the little ones are entertained. Making the Waterloo one of the coolest family-friendly hangouts in the North.

At a quick glance, you might think that West Beach Patisserie & Eatery is only for guests staying at the Big4 in West Beach Parks, but we are here to tell you that it is OPEN to the public, 7 days a week and your family are going to love some of the best coffee, food and hospitality going around! Legitimately, every thing this talented family touch in the hospitality space, turns to gold. Trust us, we have been following these legends around for a good few years now. You are going to feel like you are a resort guest far far away (minus the exorbitant resort prices) as you sit amongst the potted palms, greenery and white umbrellas, sipping a brunch champagne and devouring your eggs benedict. The car park and venue entrance are very simply accessed from Military Road - no need to actually enter the park at all! The small on site playground will keep young kids occupied while they wait for their food, and when it does come, sitting out doors is just the best this time of year and with kids in tow. Something about more space around you and less venue noise plus the…
